The City Council met i.o regular session this 15th day of August,
lS22 with the following members present:
W. T. Goo de, Pres. of Councjl
O. O. DaTis, Councilman,
J. S. Underhill, "
Also present were'Geo. F. Parker and'W. W. Dunnicliff.
,
Mrs. Van Poll and Mrs. Siglow came before the City Council with
the request that the landings on both sides of the river on the
street leading east from the North side of the publie school
block be fixed up in such manner and shape that the school
children could pass with comfprt and safety.
,These ladies also brought up the matter of the safety of the
ferry boat on which the children cross the riTer~ -
The Chairman of the Street Committee was instructed to look OTer
the street approaches to the river, as referred to above, and
make the necessary repairs.
The Chairman advised the ladies that the ferry boat problem
was a matter for them to take up with the School Board.
Op motion made by Councilman J. S. Underhill and seconded by
Councilman o. o. DaTis, the City Clerk was instructed to transfer
$1000.00 from the Sewer Fund to the Water Works fund.
Motion carried unanimoUSly.
On motion made by J. S. Underhill, Davis the

R. Smith be paid '21.00 per week. Motion was unanimous.
On request of President Goode, the Chair was turned oTerto Council-
m~l Davis, who assumed same, while CoUncilman Guode put the fOllowiug
motion:
RESOLVED that W. T. GoOde be relieved 01 the labors imposed ön him
at II. former Council meeting, of putting in sewers, water mains, septic
tanks, etc. and that this work be turned over to R. E.-Willis, City
Engineer, effeoti ve immediately.

kr. Good then assumed the Chair as President of Council.
Motion was made by J. S. Underhill and seconded by Councilman o. o.
Davis, that 9n account of the low financial condition of the
Water Works Fund the City dispense with the services of John Dancy.

Objections were, filed by L. L. Wi.ngate, stating the frontage of
Lot 12, Bleak 149 is 34 feet instead of 50 feet as assessed.
General protest and oBjections were filed in unison by ~r. E. R.
Wright and Mr. G. W. Freese, against the assessment on certain
lots in Eàst Okeechobee, but no't described.
The Ci'ty Couacil, after due consideration, being sa'tisfied that the
assessments are correct and í.,nat salll& wou1.d not exceed one-third
~he entire cost of the paving, on motion of H. C. Adams, se6onded
'by R. E. McLaug,nlin" it was unanimously'agreed that line assessments
be allowed to stand.
Written objections haTing been filed p~,L. L. Wingate as ~O paving
assessment on lot LG, BloCK 14;', claiming that there is only 34 feet
frontage on !Jorth ParK Sî..reet., instead of 50 f88t as assessed.
After due consideration thereof the Cit~ Council being of the
opinion that the 34 feet is the correct frontage, motion was ruade
by Council¡lJan H. C. Adams, ana. seconC;led by Couücilma.n O. o. Davis,
