C.Adams, seconded by Councilman McLaughlin, the Clerk was instructed to notify the City Marshall that all past due professionsal and other licenses and taxes due the City must be collected and reported to the Clerk within ten days . date, or the law enforced for doing business without a license. , . MoLaughlin the City Attorney was, instructed to defend the suit filed against the Ci~y by Attorneys Hamrick and Donnell former City Attorneys, and their associates, for ,,1,000.00 damages; and the sum of :i~I~O is hereby authorized advanced to apply on attorney's fee 'and expense. Motion carried unanimously. , Motion was made by Councilman J. S. The Minutes of the meeting of the Council of August 9,1921 were read and approved as read. The Counoi1 instruotéd Chairman Goode to see the Southern Utili- ties Company aDd arr&nge for having theneoessary street and ,if necessary, commercial lights placed on lIailroad Street. '1 The following resolution was made by H. C. Adams and seconded by Councilman Underhill: . RESOLVED: That tbe City Clerk draw, up an approved bill authoriz- ing payment of ~200.00 in full settlement of Mr. Weyrioh's bill for auditing the City accounts, and also prepare in the same manner a warrant for Wm. Collins, Jailor, for oare of prisoners and use of jail to date. . Motion carried unanimously. On motion of Counoil... H. C. Adams, seconded bt Councilman J. S. Underbill, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED, ' That no gasoline filling stationa, or telephone booths, or calling stations, shall be 8rected on the City streets of Okeecbobee, nor at or near the sidewalks thereof without the wri.tten consent of the City Counoi1, end that all such gasoline fi~ng stations or telephone booths now erected upon any street or at or near the sidewalks of any street of said City of . Okeeohobee, are hereby declared to be a nuisanoe, and the City }¡1arshal shall notify those who have no permit to remove same within ten days from this date, unless they secure a written permit !for same. The Chairman of the Council instructed the Chairman of the Street Committee to look after and repair the foot cl"ossing near Hardy Walker's home on Parrott Ave. and also repair the culvert near the Sohoo1 house.
