1941-02-19 Regular 636 , February 3, 1941 The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida; met in regular I session at the Oi ty Hall at 8: 00 P.- M; on the above date and. the following were present: Mayor H. H. Raulerson,w. R. Page, President of CounCil, Councilmen Raifsnider, Roe and Raulerson, withælma Sherman, City Clerk, T. W. Conely, Jr., City ~ttorney, R. O. Evans, Chief of Police, O. O. McOain, Water Supt., and N. O. Stewart In attendance. Minutes of meetings held January 6th., 9th., 16th., 23rd., were read and adopted as read. Water Supt. MoOain reported on condition of filter at Water Plant. R. o. Evans appeared before the Council and stated that he was indebted J. to the City in the sum of 130.30 for water to January 1,1941, and that City was 1ooe~ed to him in the ~o~ of $60.00 m1oh r~resemed b~Mce d~ for s8n1oe I rendered during the months April and May, 1940, as Special police, that if the Oi ty would ,cancel the account against him he would cancel his claim against Oi ty. H. Raulerson, W. R. Page, President of City Council, Councilmen Roe, McMullen and Raifsnider, with Alma Sherman, City Clerk, T. W. Conely, Jr., City Attorney, R. C. Evans, Chief of Police and N. O. Stewart, Fire Chief in attendance. lir. Morise Thomas appeared before the Council and presented a claim against the City in the amount of $75.00 and stated that he was indebted to the City for water in the amount of $34.92 and stated that inasmuch as the City was in financial distress he offered to cancel his claim provided the City would satisfy their claim against him. Upon motion of ColIDcilman Raifsnider, seconded by Councilman Roe and carried, the offer was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to cancel the claim against Mr. Thomas for water.
