The Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. ."i~

I Upon invitation of the Oouncil there was a number of ci tizena present to
. discuss ways and means of te.1sing revenue to finance the City. Aftar several
minutes of 4iscussion it was decided that President Rau1er SOR should appoint
' a committee of five citizens to study some plan by which this revenue could be
raised and report their"'f1""""gs back to the Oi ty Oounci1 wi thin two weeks.

Councilman Culbreth presented the following resoluti,on and moved its adoption,
and upon being seconded by Councilman Brass was put to ~ vote and was ubanimous1y

WHEREAS, many citizens residing within the Corporàte Limits of the City
of Okeechobee have requested this Council to remove garbage and
WHEREAS, the City is no~ financially able to give such services
. lOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that any person, firm or corporation desiring
, to have garbage removed by the City Sanitary Department Shall notify the City
01erk and shall agree to pay a monthly service charge as follows:

Such Charges shall be paid' in advance on or before the 10th day of each
manth and shall be paid to the City 01erk.
AlY person, firm or Corporation who fails to pay such charge within the
time herein set forth sh,all be '.iminated from such service æd g~bage I¡Ihã11
not be removed by the 01 ty Sani t'ary Department until all service charges are
paid in full. ' -
BE it further resolved that the City Clerk keep a proper record and issue
a proper receipt for all moneys collected by virtue of this resolution.
PASSED and ADOPTED in open session this 2nd day of February, A. D. 1937.
