Mayor H:ancock stated that the purpose of the meeting, was to set millage for
tax roll for the year 1935, also to accept tax roll for ye81 'J,.93~,
Alto Watford, City tax Assessor of the City Of Okeechobee, Florida. presented
the' City tax assessment 1011 of the City of Okeechobee, Florida. for the Year of
1935. as completed by Him tor:the Council for examination and acceptance by Council~
After examination of said tax assessment Roll by Council, on Motion of Ooun-
man, Domer seconded by 00unci1man Singletary, said Roll was accepted and ordered
de1iverd to City tax Collector for col1eotion of taxes.

All ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLEOTION OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1935,
FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE? FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEEOHOBEE? FLORIDA:
SEOTION l.
That the City of Okeechobee, Florida. hereby 1evys a tax of 26 mills
on each dollar valuation of real and personal property within the corporate limits
of the said City of Okeechobee, Florida. for the tax Year 1935. 8uch tax shall be II
assessed and collected in the manner provided by Law.
SECTION 2.
taht 19 mills of such tax shall be used for General Oi ty purposes and ,'~ .
shall be assessed for the General fund of said City; that 1 mill shall be used
for publicity purposes and shall be assessed for the publicity fund of said City;
that 6 mills shall be assessed for and is made pursuant to a peremtory Writ of
Mandamus issued out of the Circuit Court of Okeechobee County, Florida. on the
25th, day of October A.D. 1935. on the relation of H.J. Rice Which said Peremptory
Writ requires the City Council to include a sufficient ammount and / or tax levy
to payoff and discharge the indebtness of said City to said Relator.

it shall be the duty of the tax 0O11ECTOR And City Olerk to divide the
proceeds received from said tax as aforesaid into the funds set out in the pree-
ceding sections and keep full and correct account of same as they may be directed
by said City Council. .
SEOTION 4.
- All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the L-
same are hereby repealed. I

was instructed to grant the following discounts in the payment of taxes: 9% in

The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session at
4IÞ the City Hall at eight o'clock P. M. on the above date, and the following were
present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, O. L. Hunt, President of the City Council, Councilman
, Raulerson, Viotor Domer and R. H. Singletary, with Alto Watford, City Clerk, R. C.
Evans, Chief of police, L. C. Tootle, Water Supt., T. W. Conely, c~ty Attorney and
W. S. A. Henderson, Fire Chief, in attendance.
Councilman H. H. Raulerson, President Pro-tem,presided over the meeting.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Councilman Hunt presented Ordinance No. l70 and moved its adoption. Seconded by
Councilman Singletary and unanimously passed and adopted.

AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE OPERATION OF MOTOR DRIVEN
AND OTHER VEHIOLES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY
I OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE ENFOROE-
MENT AND PUNISHMENT FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE
CITY OF OKEEOHOBEE, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1.
No persons shall operate a motor vehicϑ within the
City Limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, recklessly or at a rate of speed
