The City Council of the City of Okeeohobee met in regular session
on the above date, with the following present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, O. L.
Hunt, President of the City Council, Councilmen Raulerson, Domer, Singletary,
with Alto Watford, City Clerk, L. O. Tootle, Water s~t., W. S. A. Henderson,
Fire Chief, R. C. Evans, Chief of Police, An~ T. W. Conely, Jr., City Attorney,
in attendance.
Oounoi1man Raulerson made motion to discontinue the printing of the
minutes in the Okeechobee News if charge was to be made, upo~being seconded by
Councilman Singletary was carried.'-
The following Resolution was presented by Councilman Domer, Who
moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Singletary was unaB-
imously passed and adopted.
~E-S-O-L-U~T-I-O-N
WHEREAS1 the financial condition is such that it is impossible
to operate the several city departments
I NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that iIiih persons, clubs and organizat-
'ions now receiving free water service be notified by the City Clerk that
such free service will be discontinued as of November 1, 1935.

; Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of
Okeechobee, Florida, will meet in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, al
II seven- thirty o~c10ck P. M., October 7, A. D. L935, for the purpose of reviewing
and equalizing the City Tax Assessment Roll for the Ijjffjl year 1935 as
prepared by the City Tax Assessor.
Any and all persons having any objections to the valuation placed
on their property by the City Tax Assessor, as shown by the assessment roll,
are hereby notified to file their objections with the City Clerk or to appear
in, person before the City Couooil at the said meeting on the aforesaid date.

On this day personally appeared before, Mrs. Minnie B. Griffis~ who being by me
first duly sworn deposes and says that she is the Secy. and Treas. of the
Okeechobee News, a newspaper published in the City of Okeechobee, and state of
Florida; that said newspaper has been continuously published in accordance with
the provisions and requirements of an act relating to publication of legal
notices and processed in newspaper4 in the State of Florida, l~ws of Florida
Acts of 1931, approved May 20, 1931. That is published once a week for one or
more years prior to first insertion of attached legal notice, and Which has been
entered as second class matter in the post office at Okeechobee, Florida, for
a period of moee than one year next preceding the first insertion of this publi-
cation; and that the attached advertisement was published in said newspaper once
each week for a period of three weeks, to-wit: In the issues of said newspaper

Alto Watford, City Tax Assessor, presented the Tax Assessment Roll for the year
1935, to the City Council for review and equalization.
President O. L. Hunt announced that the Counci~ was ready to recieve and consider
objections to the valuations on the said assessment roll. The Tax Assessor
announced that no objections had been filed with him. A large delegation of tax
pay~rs were~resent and made no objections to said tax roll.
Upon motion duly seconded th Council decided to keep said Tax Roll open until
October l5th for the purpose of giving the Tax payers more time within Which to
inspect said roll.
Upon motion duly seconded the Council adjourned until 7:30 P.K.! October l5th, 193:5.

Pursuant to adjournment the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met
at the City Hall, at 7:30 O'clock P. M. on the above date for the purpose of
reviewing the Tax Roll for the ,ft, year 1935, and adopting a budget of estimated
i expenses for the -operation of the. said city for the year of 1936';-'~The following
I were present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, O. ;L.:'Hunt, President of City Council,
Councilmen Raulerson, Domer, Singletary,", Alto Watford, City Clerk, L. C. Tootle,
Water ¡)uperintendent, R. O. Evans, Ohief..9f Police, w. S. A. Henderson, Fire
Chief, T~ W. Conely, City Attorney.
The Council proceeded to inspect the Tax Roll for the year 1935 and no complaints
havin~ been received upon motüon duly seconded the_Tax Roll was eeturned to the
City lerk, as Tax Assessor, for compl~ion.
A committee from the Oivitan Club requested that the City Council include a levy
of one mill-on the Tax Roll for the year 1935, for publicity purposes.
The Council then proceeded to adopt a Budget of estimated expenditures for the ye~
1936 and upon motion of Councilman Singletary, duly seconded, the following
Budget was adopted: '.
