Pursuant to adjournment the City COUl1Cil of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in special session at the City Hall at 7:30 P. M. on the above date for the purpose of conàidering resolution in regards to releasing Li berty Bonds. The following were present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, O. L. Hunt, President of City Council, Councilmen Raulerson, Coleman, Singletary and Domer, with Alto Watford, City Clerk, W. S. A. Henderson, Fire Cheif, R. C. Evans, Cheif of police, and T. W. Conely, Jr., City Attorney, also L. C. Tootle, Water Supt. --- The following Resolution was presented by Co~~cil Raulerson, who moved its adoption and upon seconded by Councilman Singletôxy and put to a vote, was unanimously adopted. IlESOLUllON WHEREAS? The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, entered into an agreement with Citizens Bank of stuart at St~~rt, Florida, ì'.hereby said Bank was duly designa.ted the Official Depository for the said City of Okeechobee, and WHEREAS, pursuant to said agreement tbe said Citizens Bank of Stuart delivered to City of Okeechobee, Florida, the following described securities: 1- $500.00 u. S. Treasury Bond dated October 15th. I 1933, Due October15th., 1945, No. 3l465E, bearing interest 3t% with interest coupon maturing April 15th., 1934 and subsequent attached. 1- $1,000.00 U. S. 4th., 4t%? Liberty Loan Bond of 1933-3g, Maturity No.E026ð7635 with April 15th., 1934, and subsequent interest coupons attached. WHEREAS, the deposits of said City of Okeechobee is less than - $5,000.00 and it is unlikely that said deposits will exceed that s~~ in the near future and all deposits of said Bank are insured up to $5,000. 00 , ,and WHER.1!:AS, the said Citizens Bank of stuart has requested this Council t::;¡ release the secu:t'i ties above mentioned and described, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said securities be, and they 9.1'e hereby released unto the said. ' RESOLUTION vVHBR~AS, this Cow~cil has been reliably informed that the Federal Government has extended the construction of Public Works Project in Glades co~nty, Florida, to include construction of canals, dykes, culverts, flood- gates, etc., from Fisheating Creek north to Kissimmee River, a.nd WHEREAS, this Co~~cil deems it expedient and Nesessary that said Public Works Projects be extended from Kissiwmee River to Okeechobee-Martin County bOlli1dary, NOW] TrlEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, in regular session convened the the Federal Government be and it hereby petetioned to extend the construction of the aforesaid pub- lic Works projects to include that territory from the Kissimmee River to the - Okeechobee-Martin Cowlty bo"..mdary, and. to begin the construction of said project as soon as possible.
