The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session
I at the City H~l rl 7:30 o'clo~ P.M. on the ~ove drle with the following preBe~:
H. H. Hancock, Mayor, _#*.,#8"'1 Councilmen Hunt, Raulerson, Singletary, Domer and
Coleman, Alto Watford City Clerk, T. W. Conely, Jr., City Attorney, Chief of Police
Arndt and Fire Chief Henderson also L. C. Tootle, Water Superintendent in Attendance.
The Minutes of the last regular meeting and special meeting held January 16th.,
were read and duly adopted.
W. D. Coker and J. O. wolff, members of the Board of Public Instruction of
Okeechobee County, and F. B. Baggott, Superintendent of Public Instruction of
Okeechobee County, appeared before the Council and r.quested that the Water Bill in
. the ~ooot of $518.27 a~lnst the 800001 Board be c~cel1ed on accooot of l=k of
-, funds to pay same and assured the Council that if said bill was cancelled the School
Board would pay their water bill promptly, beginning with January 1935. After
discussion Upon Motion of Councilman Domer, seconded by Councilman Singletary and
carried the water bill was cancelled up to January 1935, .
The Following Resolution was presented by Councilman Domer who moved its ad-
option and upon being seconded by Councilman Singletary and put to a vote, was
unanimouslyadpoted:

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, that all
employees of said City be required to perform their duties in a prompt'"
efficient and satisfactory manner and to conduct themselves at all times in a
gentlemanly and upright manner and that all just and honest debts incurred by said
employees shall be paid and satisfied by them in a prompt manner.
II BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the event II any of the employees of said City
shall fail to perform his duty as aforesaid, or conduct himself in a gentlemanly and
4IÞ upright manner, or pay his just and honest debts promptly, that upon complaint, said
employee, or employees, shall be given a hearing and their complaint is justified
said employee, or employees, shall be immediately discharged.
PASSED AND ADOPTED IN open session of the City éJouncil this 5th. day of
February, A. D. 1935.

It was brought to the attention of the Council that the buildings on Lots 7 & g of
Block 149 in the City of Okeechobee, had been condemned on the 3rd. day of April,
A. D. 1934 and the owners notified of such proceedings, but that nothing had been
done by the owners to put said buildings in repair or to remove same; upon motion

duly seconded the City Clerk was instructed to Notify the owners of said property
that unless said buildings were removed within thirty days from this date that the
city Council ~ould proceed to haVe same removed at the cost of said owners.
Upon Motion duly seconded the President of the City Council was authorized to
appoint a committee to submit projects, on behalf of the City, to the Public Works
Committee of Okeechobee, at their meeting to be held Friday, February 8th.,; the
President appointed Councilman Raulerson, chairman of said committee and Counoilaen
Hunt and Coleman and Mayor Hancock to serve on said Committee with Councilman
Raulerson.
Upon Motion duly made and seconded the Council went into executive session.
The Council came in open session and after conferring with Chief of Police Arndt
relative to his salary as such officer, it was agreed between the Council and Chief
of Police Arndt that the salary of said Chief would be reduced to $110.00 per month
and he furnish all gasoline and oil necessary for the operation of his automobile;
this was done with the understanding that if conditions with the City Administration
improved that the salary of said Chief would be restored to its former basis.
Upon Motion of Councilman Raulerson seàDnded by Councilman Singletary it waS
agreed to employee a Special Polieeman at a salary of $110.00 per month and he
furnish all gasoline and oil for his automobile. Mr. R. C. Evans appaeared and
stated that he would accept the job as Special Po1ieeman on this basis and he
WaS employed as such to serve I. at the pleasure of the City Council.

Pursuant to call of the Mayor? The City Council of Okeechobee ,F¡orida
met in special session at the City Hall at 7:30 o'clock P. M. on the
above date and the following were present. H. H. Handc,oc,k, Mayor,
O. L. Hunt, President City Council, Councilman Raulerson, Victor Domer,
R. H. Singletary,. with Alto Watford, City Clerk, W. ß. A. Henderson
Fire Chelf, wm H. Arndt Cheif of Police, L. C. Tootle, Water Supt., in
attendance.
Mayor Hanctcock Stated that meeting of Council had been called for the
purpose of discusaing balance due Mrs. Clara Walker for drudging done
by Mrs. Walker several years ago, and other business. that may come
before the City Council.
Upon motion of Councilman Singletary and seconded by Raulerson and duly
carri~d that City Clerk be authorized to draw voucher for Mrs. Clara
Walker il). the amount of $5g.54 when funds are available.
There being no further business to come before the Council, upon motion
Council adjourned.
