Pursuant to adjournment on November 16th, 1934, the City Council of the City tIÞ of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall at 7.30 o'clock P. M. on the above date and the following were present: H. H. Hancock Mayor, Alto þtford, Pres1dem of City Co~il, ~w01~en A. W, Brass, J, H, ~Ùker, Sr. and II J. D. Brett with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk, L. L. Conrad, Chief of Police, W. S. A. Henderson, Fire Chief and L. C. Tootle, Water Superintendent in attendance. Minutes of November 6th, 1934 were raad and approved. Duplicate returns of the General City Election held December 4th, 1934 were received and canvassed by Council, and on motion of Councilman Brett, seconded by Councilman Walker, Council ordered said returns entered in the minutes of Council: State of Florida, County of Okeechobee, City of Okeechobee. We, the undersigned Inspectors and Clerk of the General City Election of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, held this day for the election of Mayor, Five Oouncil- men and City Clerk of said City, DO HEREBY CERTIFY, that the following is a true and correct count of all votes cast for the qualified candidates for the respective offices to which they sought election: FOR MAYOR, H. Hunt, Hiram Raulerson and R. H. Singletary received the highest votes for City Councilmen, and WHEREAS. Alto Watford received the highest number of votes for City Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That H. H. Hancock be. and he is hereby de- clared elected Mayor of the City of Okeechobee. Florida. and that T. T. Coleman, Victor J. Domer, Omar L. Hunt, Hiram Raulerson and R. H. Singletary ,be, and they are hereby declared elected City Councilmen of said City of Okeechobee, Florida.and th~ Alto Watford be, and he is hereby declared elected City Clerk of said City of Okeechobee, Florida. Fletcher for #25.00 amount paid by him for clerical help during his vacation in September 1934 and incident to City Election. . Council agreed to allow Frank Schutt credit on delinquent City taxes to the amount of $107.10, saidwbbunttbe1ng the difference between the amount paid by him for City tax ,es for the years 1927 and 1928 in - 0 ash and the amount which would have been due under terms of tax reduction allowed by Council on October 4th, 1929. On motion of Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Brass, Oounci1 instruc- ted City Clerk to order one Park Special Lawn Mower .with reel from Zaun Equipment Company for the sum of $295.00 plus freight. \; On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Oounoilman Brass, Council authorized City Tax Oollector to allow a discount of $1.19 to Nair Motor Company on their taxes for the year 1928. 4' . The following Resolùtion was offered by Councilman MoCarthy, who moved its adoption, motion seconded by Councilman Brett and passed: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of Okeechobee, Florida, deems it to the best interest of said City to complete the purchase of a generator, which the citizens of Okes- I chobee-have already contributed the sum of $100.00 towards the purchase of same, and . WHEREAS, the Council considers it expedient to purchase said generator in that a considerable saving can be effected in lighting the streetþ lights of said City and as ~mergency power in pumping water, etc., and WHEREAS, the General Fund has no funds for the purchase of same, and WHEREAS, the Park Fund has more money in said fund than" is necessary for the immediate needs of the parks of said City. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Okeechobee Florida that the sum o~ $310.00 be borrowed from the Park Fund for purchase of said ge~erator.
