Council Member Watford requested the matter of enforcement of the noise ordinance be discussed. Clerk Gamiotea
has verified that CSX Railroad was forwarded a copy of the City's noise ordinance, which included regulating train
horns and the restriction of them at night. He asked whether or not Staff could research what needs to be done in order
to enforce the ordinance, he has received several complaints from neighbors.
Following a lengthy discussion, Mayor Kirk instructed Administrator Veach and Attornev Cook to research the
best method of enforcing the restrictions on train horns. and report back their findings to the Council. It was
noted that the City of Vero Beach enforces their noise ordinance.
Clerk Gamiotea explained in Exhibit Seven that the Sheriffs Office Law Enforcement Expo Event has grown, and they
are now using Park 2 in addition to Parks 3 and 4. They will need to also close Southwest Jd Avenue, in addition to
4th Avenue that was approved at the January 4, 2005 meeting.
