The Okeechobee Utility Authority would require a 20-foot utility easement for maintenance for their waterline. The City Engineer strongly objected to the closing due to the severe flooding within the area, until the Master Stonn Water Drainage Study was completed and the City would know what streets and alleys would be necessary for moving water to keep properties from flooding. The flooding in the Southwest section has been an on-going problem for the City, County and South Florida Water Management District since the 2004 Hurricane Season. After a brief discussion, the Mayor and Council advised Pastor SanMartin. who was oresent at the meeting, that they would not be able to process their street closina application at this time. Pastor SanMartin thanked the Council for their time and consideration on the matter.
