~e City Co=il of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in re~~ session at I
the City Hall at 8.00 o'clock P. M..on the above date and the following were present:
H. H. Hancock, Mayor, Alto Watford, President of City Council, Councilmen D. B. Mc-
Carthy, A. W. Brass, J. H. Walker, Sr. and J. D. Brett with R. P. Fletcher, City
Clerk, G. C. Durrance, City Attorney, L. C. Tootle, Water Superintendent, L. L.
Conrad, Chief of Police and W. S. A. Henderson, Fire Chief in attendance.
Minutes of meetings held August 7th and August 9th were read and approved.
Councilman McCarthy moved that Council retain L. L. Conrad as Chief of Police
of the City of Okeechobee, motion seconded by Councilman Brett and passed by the

The following Resolution was offered by Councilman Brass, who moved its adop..-
tion, motion seconded by Councilman Brett and passed:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS,the building and/or buildings on Lot 12, Block E, Wright's 3rd Additi-
on to Okeechobee, Florida, is in an unsafe and unsanitary condition, and,
Whereas, the building committee of the City Council of Okeechobee, Florida,
has made an investigattœn of said premises and has reported to said City Council
that the building and/or buildings on said premises constitute a fire hazard, and
is a menace to the health and safety of the citizens of said City, and
Whereas, the said building committee of said City of Okeechobee has recommended
to the said City Council that the said building herein referred to be condemned.
Therefore be it resolved by the City Council of Okeechobee, Florida, that the
buildings on the property, that is to say, on Lot 12, Block E, Wright's 3rd Addition
to Okeechobee, Florida, be and the same are hereby declared to be a mena~ce to the
health of the citizens of Okeechobee, Florida, and also constitute a dangerous fire
hazard to the property in said City.
Be it further resolved that the building ro1d/or buildings on. said lot be and II
the same is hereby condemned as provided by law.
Be it further resolved that if the owner or owners of said building and/or 4IÞ\
buildings do not remove or repair the same instanter, after due notice hereof, that
said City do proceed to destroy the same.

the buildings on said premises constitute a fire hazard, and is a menace to the
health and safety of the citizens of said City, and,
Whereas, the said building committee of said City of Okeechobee has recommended
to the said City Council that the said buildings herein referred to be condemned,
Therefore be it resolved by the City Council of Okeechobee, Florida, that the
buildings on the property, that is to say, lot 9, Block 207, Okeechobee"Florida,
be and the same are hereby declared to be a menace to the health of the citizens of
Okeechobee, Florida, and also constitute a dangerous fire hazard to the property
in said City.

Resignation of L. C. Tootle as ,oliceman of the City of Okeechobee was received
and read.
- On motion of Councilman Brett, seconded by Councilm~l McCarthy, Council accepted
I the resignation of L. C. Tootle as Policeman of the City of Okeechobee effective
this date.
On motion of Collilcilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Brett Council aupoint-
ed R. C. Evans as special policeman at a salary of $50.00 per month: .
On motion duly seconded and passed ebuncil approved the following transfers as
loans from Water Fund to General Fund: Aug. 11th $100.00. Au~. 23 $30.00. Aug 31
