Minutes of meetings held May 26th, June 7th, June 13th were read and approved.
Judge T. W. Conely, Jr. appeared before Council relative to sale of Eagle Bay
4IÞ Drainage District Bonds held by City to Burns Mortgage Compw1Y.
Mr. S. A. Rogers appeared before Council relative to condemnation of his dwell-
ing situate in Block 9, Wright's Addition, and Mr. D. R.bMgHeill appeared before Co un-

the building committee for äXKilAä~lää with instructions to report their findings
to the Council at its next regular meeting. The building committee was also reques-
ted to inspect the old bakery building in East Okeechobee, and report on same to
Coullcil.
Applications for permits to sell vinous and malt beverages were received from
the following: H. G. Culbreth at City Service Station and W. R. Page.
On motion of Oouncilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Walker, Council author-

ized City Clerk and City Tax Collector to issue license to H. G. Culbreth to sell
vinous and malt beverages at City Service Station.
In view of the provisions of Ordinance No. 1~2 prohibiting the sale of vinous

motion of Councilman Brett, seconded by Councilman Brass, Council denied application

Messrs Crosby and Peeples representing the Florida Power & Light Company appear-
4IÞ ed before Council relative to payment of taxes due by said Company for the yeo.rs
1932 and 1933 and presented a ten year street lighting contract and a ten year
power contract for pumping station for the consideration of Council. After consider-
able discussion of both ~on motion duly passed Council went into executive
session. Council then resumed open session.
On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Brass, Council author-
ized City Clerk to issue vouchers 1n the amount of $1.5° each to the following as
refund on amount paid for concrete toilets purchased f~om City: H. H. Hancock, Hulan
Walker, W. E. Raulerson and E. G. Sellers.

Messrs Peeples and Crosby addressðd Council relative to proposed street light-
contract

Council in their present form, no action was taken on same by Council.

Pursuant to call of ~he Mayor the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Flor-
ida met in special session at the City Hall at 1.30 o'clock P. M. and the ~ollo.ing
were present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, Alto Watford, President of City Council, Ooun-
cilmen J. D. Brett, A. W. Brass, D. B. McOarthy and J. H. Walker, Sr., with R. P.
Fletcher, City Clerk,in attendance.
Mayor Hancock såi.ted that meeting of Council had been called for the purpose
of considering the closing Second street between Blocks 231 and 2}7.
Ordinance No. 152 was proposed þy Councilman Brass, Who moved its adoption,
motion seconded by Councilman McOarthy and passed:
ORDINANOE NO. 152
AN ORDINANOE PROVIDING FOR THE OLOSING OF CERTAIN STREETS
IN THE'OITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND DESORIBING THEM.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNOIL OF THE CITY OF OKEEOHOBEE, FLORIDA.
Section 1. That, that portion of Second Street in the City of Okeechobee, Flor-
ida, according to Plat of First Addition to the said City of Okeechobee, lying be-
tween Blocks 231 and 237 be closed.
Section '2. 'That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage
and approval by the Mayor.
Read a fmrst time and by unanimous consent passed to second reading.
Read a second time and by unanimous' consent passed to ~ third reading
Read a third time and passed in special session, this the 6th day July, A. D.
1934.
