Whereas, the said Emergenoy Relief Administration proposes to furnish the laboJr
necessary for the proper installation of said sanitary toilets,
II Now Therefore Be It Resolved, By the City Council of Okeeohobee, Florida, that
the said City pay for all material necessary for the proper installation of said
toilets,
Be It Further Resolved, That the said City, will through its proper officers,
furnish to the said Emergenoy Relief Administration, all material herein above
referred to, upon request and at such time as may be required for the carrying out
of the provisions of this -Resolution.
Read and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of Okeechobee,
Florida, this the 1st day of May, A. D. 193~.

On motion of Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman MoCarthy, council agreed
to pay L. C. Tootle $10.00 as expenses on trip to Miami to seoure'information
relative to installation ef street lighting system.
On motion of Councilman Brass, seconded by Councilman Brett, Council agreed to
advance L. C. Tootle, Water Superintendent, the sum of .55.00, said amount to be
deducted in equal amounts from his salary for the months of May and June 1934.
On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Walker, Council
authorized the City Clerk to transfer $~OO.OO from Water Fund to General Fund.
Upon motion Council adjourned.

Pursuant to oa11 of the Mayor the City Council met in special session at the
City Hall at 3.00 o'clock P. M. on the above date and the following were present:
H. H. Hancock, Mayor, Oounci1men J. H. Walker, Sr., A. W. Brass and D. B. MoOarthy
with R. P. Fletoher, City Clerk in attendance.
President Watford being absent, Councilmen Walker, President pro-tem. presided
Over meeting. -
Mayor Hancock stated that meeting had been called for the purpose of considering

Mr. D. R. McNeill appeared before Council relative to payment of taxes due City
by Florida East Coast Railway. Council deferred action on matter until all Council
members are present.

Pursuant to call of the Mayor, the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, :
Florida, met in special session at the City Hall at 9.00 o'clock A. M. on the above
date and the following were present: H. H. Hancock, Mayor, Alto Watford, President
of City Council, Councilmen J. D. Brett, D. B. McCarthy, J. H. Walker, Sr., and
A. W. Brass with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk and G. o. Durrance, City Attorney in

Mayor Hanoock stated that meeting had been called for the purpose of consider-
ing the closing of Second Street between Kissimmee Street and Miami street.
Councilman Brass presented the following Resolution and moved its ,adoption
and upon being seconded by Councilman McCaxthy and put to a vote was passed and
adopted:
"
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Superintel1dent and members of the Board of Public Instruction of
Okeechobee County, Florida, have petitioned this Council to close that portion of
.
Second Street in the City of Okeechobee, acc&rding to Plat of First Addition to the "
City of Okeechobee, lying between Blocks 231 and 237, for the purpose of having an
auditorium erected to be used by the School System of said County, and
WHEREAS, the Okeechobee Company who dedicated said street to the town of Okee-
ohobee, has quit-claimed that portion of Second Street, above mentioned, to the
Board of Public Instruction of Okeechobee County, and
WHEREAS, that pœ»tion of said Second Street has never been opened or graded or
maintained in any respect by the City of Okeechobee and is not an outlet for an;
residence of said City of Okeechobee, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Instruotion of Okeechobee COWlty owns all of the
property on both sides of that portion of said Second Street to be closed, and
WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be to the best interest of siad City and
School System of said County that said street be closed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City CoWlcil of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida, that, the City Clerk be, and he is hereby authoeized to publish notice in
the Okeeohobee News, a newspaper of general oiroulation.in the CoWlty of Okeechobee,
Florida, setting forth that unless reasonable obJections are received on or before
the 2 day of July, A. D. 1934, the City Council will, byordinanoe, close,said
Street and convey the same to the Board of Public Instruction of Okeechobee County,
Florida; that said notice be published for a period of not less than thirty days.
Passed and adopted in open session this 24 day of May, A. D. 1934.
