Pursuant to adjournment, the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida,

present: Alto Watford, President of City Council, Councilmen J. D. Brett and A. W.
Brass with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk and G. C. Durrance, City Attorney in attendance.
Mr. A. V. Crosby, representative of the Florida Power & Light Company and Mr.
4IÞ D. R. McNeill addressed the Council relative to payment of taxes due City by the
Florida Power & Light Company and the Florida East Coast Railway for the years 1932
I and 1933.
Upon motion Council adjourned.

The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session -at
the City Hall at 8.00 o'clock P. M. on the above date and the following were present:
H. H. Hancock, Mayor, Alto Watford, President of City Council, Councilmen A. W. Brass,
D. B. McCarthy, J. H. Walker, Sr. and J. D. Brett with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk,
G. C. Dprrance, City Attorney, L. L. Conrad, Chief of Police and L. C. Tootle, Water
Superintendent in attendance.

RESOLUTION SHOWING THE NEOESSITY FOR FEDERAL FUNDS FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF PROJEOTS.
Be'it Resolved, By the City Council of Okeechobee, the County of Okeechobee,
~tåte of Florida, that the Emergency Relief Administration, by its proposal for a
work project for Grading of Osceola Street from Fifth Street to Old Dixie Highway
is a public project for the benefit of the general public, and not for the benefit
of any private interest, and the title to the property upon Which the work is to be
performed is vested in the City of Okeechobee.
'The proj ect embraces work that needs to be done for the general good of t he community
that there are_no appropriated funds available, nor any other way in which local public
. funds may be made available with which to do this work, and that unless Federal Funds
are used for this purpose the said work cannot be done at this time, nor at any time
within the near future; that any material over and above the 30% of the total cost
of project will be furnished by the

Whereas, the Emergenoy Relief Administration has by proper resolution proposed
the installation of certain saniåary toilets in the City of Okee~hobee, Florida, and,
Whereas the City Council of said City considers said project of general benefi~

Whereas, the said Emergency Relief Administration proposes to furnish the labo~

II Now Therefore Be It Resolved, By the City Council of Okeechobee, Florida, that
the said City pay for all materia~ necessary for the proper installation of said
toilets,
Be It Further Resolved, That the said City, will through its proper officers,
furnish to the said Emergency Relief Administration, all material herein above
referred to, upon request and at such time as may be required for the carrying out
of the provisions of this -Resolution.

4IÞ On motion of Councilman Walker, seconded by Oouncilamn McOarthy, Council agreed
brought
I to pay City Attorney $2.50 as expenses in connection with mandamus action/against
City by and also furnish gasoline and oil for trip to Ft. Pierce
to said case.
On motion of Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman MoCarthy, cO1.U1cil agreed
to pay L. O. Tootle $10.00 as expenses on trip to Miami to secure-information
relative to installation.t street lighting system.
On motion of Councilman Brass, seconded by Councilman Brett, Council agreed to
advance L. O. Tootle, Water Superintendent, the sum of t55.00, said amount to be
deducted in equal amounts from his salary for the months of May and June 193~.
On motion of Councilman McOarthy, seconded by Councilman Walker, Co1.U1cil
authorized the City Clerk to transfer $~OO.OO from Water Fund to General Fund.
Upon motion Council adjourned.

Pursuant to call of the Mayor the City Council met in special session at the
City Hall at 3.00 o'olock P. M. on the above date and the following were present:
H. H. Hancook, Mayor, Councilmen J. H. Walker, Sr., A. W. Brass and D. B. McOarthy
with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk in attendance.
President Watford being absent, Councilmen Walker, President pro-tem. presided
Over meeting.
Mayor Hancock stated that meeting had been called for the purpose of considering

Mr. D. R. McNeill appeared before Council relative to payment of taxes due City
by Florida East Coast Railway. Council deferred action on matter until all Council
members are present.
