It shall be the duty of the City Tax Collector and the City Clerk of the said City of Okeechobee, Florida, to divide the proceeds received from said taxes into the four funds as set out in the preceding section, and keep full and correct account of the same as may be directed by said City Council. . Simmons addressed Council relative to Safety Campaign and requested Clty officials to co-operate with him in an effort to reduce the number of automo- bile accidents. I Mr. L. S. Turbyfill appeared before Council with reference to closing streets in vicinity of school buildings except for school purposes. No action was taken. The following Resolution was offered by Councilman Walker, Who moved its adop- tion, motion seconded by Councilman McVarthy ~1d passed~ RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of Okeecho- bee, Florida, that certain buildings in said City are in a bad state of repair, and constitute an unsanitary condition, as also a fire hazard, and WHEREAS, the said City Council has made an mnvestigation and finds that the building on the Northend of Lot Nine, Block One Hundred Forty Nine owned by Joe Mulberg, and the building on Lot 0, Block 252, owned by Okeechobee Company, a corp- oration, are unsanitary and constitute a menace to the health of said City as well as a fire hazard, and that the owners thereof have failed to remove, demolish or repair said buildings, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the owners of said buildings are hereby re- quested and commanded to remove, demolish or put in a safe and sanitary condition, the buildings as aforesald, within thirty days from service ID1d/or receipt of a copy of this resolution, otherwise the City of Okeechobee, Florida, will remove or destroy said buildings as in such Cases made and provided by the statutes of the State of Florida, and the ordinances of said City.
