II ': Minutes of meetings held February 26th and March 3rd, 1931 were read and Ii II approved. Ii Ii Mr. Abraham Freedman appeared before Council and requested Council to reduce II , r II the tax assessment for the year 1930 on Lots -1 and 2, Block 164. Ii II 1 The following resolution was 9ffered by Councilman Berka, who moved its :i I ,I adoption, and upon being seconded by Councilman McUarthy was put to a vote and Ii -" " I¡ .. Ii ~ unanimously passed in open session: Ii :1 Ii RESOLUTION :; il WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council that thei :1 assessment, for taxation, of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 164 of the City of 'Okeechobee ¡I Ii in the awn of $16,000.00 for the year 1930 is excessive, in comI1arieon with other II ;¡ i properti es in the sü.d 01 ty of Okeechobee, II NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said assessment of the property aforesaid Ii I be reduced to the sum of $14,000.00, and be it further resolved that the City Tax !! il Collector be, and he is hereby authorized and instructed to collect taxes on said II ~ 'i property for the year 1930 on a basi's of t he assessment of $14,000.00 aforesaåd. Young, State Senator, and P. Tomasello, Jr., County Representative ,I - ~ I in and for the County of Okeechobee, State of Florida, be, and they are hereby!: I : requested to procure amendments to the Charter of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, Ii I " ; - at the present session of the Florida Legislature, providing in effect as follows: II r 1. To license and tax omnibuses, busses, automobiles and :! I trucks transporting passengers and freight. i' , ii - 2. Payment of poll tax for City Elections five days before ¡: the day of election. :1 I 3. To condemn and order to be demolished and removed, or to II be put in a state of sound repair, any and all delapidated, unsanitary and unsafe buildings or structures.
