PROPOSED ORDINANCES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a PUBLIC HEARING will be held during the Regular Meeting of the
City Council for the City of Okeechobee on February 6, 2024, at 6 PM, or as soon thereafter as
possible, at City Hall, 55 SE 3rd AVE, Rm 200, Okeechobee, FL., to consider the adoption of the
following:
• ORDINANCE NO. 1284: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE FURTHER AMENDING
THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE GENERAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, RESTATED
PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE 1141; AMENDING SECTION 10, OPTIONAL FORMS OF BENEFITS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
• ORDINANCE NO. 1285: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA;
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 2 ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE III
DEPARTMENTS, OFFICERS, AND EMPLOYEES, DIVISION 4 CITY CLERK, SECTION 2-131
GENERAL DUTIES TO REMOVE THE DUTY OF PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATOR; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The public is invited to attend and be heard on all matters.
The proposed Ordinances can be viewed/inspected in their entirety at the address above in Rm 100, during regular
business hours, Mon -Fri, 8 AM-4:30 PM, except holidays, contact the City Clerk's Office staff at 863-763-9814. They will
be posted online one week prior to the PUBLIC HEARING date, with the City Council agenda materials on the website
at https://www.cityofokeechobee.com/AgendaMinutes-CityCouncil.html.
As required by Florida Statute 166.041(4)(c), the Business Impact Estimates are posted to the City website as of January
24, 2024. They can be viewed at https://cityofokeechobee.com/public-notice.html.
BE ADVISED that should you intend to show any document, picture, video, or items to the City Council in support or
opposition to any item on the agenda, a copy of the document, picture, video, or item must be provided to the Board
Secretary for the City's records. ANY PERSON DECIDING TO APPEAL any decision made by the City Council with
respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceeding is made and
the record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based. In accordance with the Americans
with Disabilities Act, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in this proceeding should
contact the City Clerk's Office in person or call 863-763-9814, Hearing Impaired: Florida Relay 7-1-1 no later than four
business days prior to proceeding.
