October Code Officer Smith spoke with the daughter of the homeowner, Lorrie Richards, and
25, 2023 advised that her father had passed away 2 weeks ago, and she lived out of state in
Ohio. She advised that the company that is going to pressure wash the home would
be out next month and would be getting the vehicles removed as soon as she gets all
the property place in her name. I advised her how much time before the hearing and
for her to stay in contact with me to keep the office abreast of any changes.
December Code Officer Smith inspected the property and found that the property is non-

exterior of the home has been cleaned and the grass has been cut. Photos in file.
December Code Officer Smith spoke with the property owner's daughter, and she advised that
7, 2023 she had gotten the outside of the home cleaned, and that she was trying to get the
vehicles registered or moved but she had lost her job, so things have become more
difficult to handle. Advise her to keep in contact with the office.
• To comply with City ordinances, property owner needs to maintain the grass and register
or remove vehicles.
City Recommendation:
The City recommends that this case be heard at the next hearing giving the property owner the
opportunity to bring the property into compliance due to the fact that she is addressing the issues
from out of state.

Chapter 30 Sections, 30-41 Disabled vehicles, 30-43 Public nuisances and 30-44 General
cleaning and beautification: Exterior of the home in need of cleaning. Grass in need of
being cut, and disabled vehicles on property. Photos in the file.
October 10, 2023 Courtesy Card, photos and city ordinances mailed via USPS regular mail, giving the property
owner 14 days to correct the violation
October 24, 2023 Code Officer Smith inspected the property: still non-compliant, none of the issues have been
addressed. Photos in file.
SOV/NOH, and photos mailed via USPS certified return receipt for the December 12, 2023
Hearing. Received certified receipt card back on November 6, 2023, signature not legible.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes 162.02 and 162.12, Florida Statutes,and the Code of Ordinances of City of
Okeechobee, I(hereinafter the"City of Okeechobee),the undersigned Code Enforcement Officer hereby gives
notice of an uncorrected violation of the City of Okeechobee Code, as more particularly described herein,and
hereby requests a Hearing before the Okeechobee City Code Enforcement Special Magistrate.

Unless Respondent corrects the violation described herein by the date set forth above AND contacts the undersigned Code
Inspector to verify compliance,with the Okeechobee City Code Section(s)cited herein,you are hereby called upon to take
notice that a Hearing will be held in this cause before the City of Okeechobee Code Enforcement Magistrate on the 12th
day December, 2023 at 6:00 P.M.,located at 55 SE 3rd Ave Okeechobee City Hall,Okeechobee Florida 34974 in
Council Chambers.The Magistrate will receive testimony and evidence at said Hearing and shall make findings of fact and
conclusions of law as are supported by the evidence and testimony,and shall make an order thereupon.You are entitled to be
represented by counsel,present evidence,and present testimony.Please be advised that any evidence presented to the
Magistrate for his consideration will be retained by Code Compliance Department.If you fail to appear at the hearing the
Magistrate may enter an Order of Violation,&impose a fine in your absence.
