In order that you may better understand why you are receiving the attached
"Notice to OWner", the following is offered:
Chapter 9, Article II, of the City Code requires property owners to keep
their premises free of trash, weeds, and other debris. On a finding that
conditions exist on a lot or parcel not in accordance with the require-
ments of the ordinance, the owner(s) is notified and has fifteen (15)
days in which to correct the conditions on the property. If the condition
is not corrected within fifteen (15) days after notification, the city
may have the work done and charge the cost, thereof, to the property owner(s).
If the charges remain unpaid, a lien may be filed against the property and
recorded in the public records of Okeechobee County with the Clerk of the
Circuit Court.
