The notion that these trucks are out-competing the brick& mortar restaurants is no different than having a Wendy's vs. Burger King, or Subway vs.Jersey Mike's- it should be the consumer's choice on where they spend their money; not that of the Government. Not only are these trucks convenient for lunches and fast suppers, but the quality of food and service is much better than what we receive at a sit-down place to eat. As long as they have the proper permitting to do business and the owners are in compliance with whatever ordinances/licenses may apply, I do not feel that they should be restricted to a "special events only" designation; especially if they are locally owned and operated.
