Ms. Tammy Cook-Weedon, Director of Landscape Architecture with Calvin, Giordano, and Associates (CGA), provided an update on the progress of the FLAGLER Park Master Plan utilizing a nineteen-page Power Point presentation [as presented in Exhibit 2]. All designs and improvement are being proposed within the set budgetary restraints of$300,000.00 per park. Butterfly Square, Block F/Park 6/CGA Park 7, August 16, 2022, Minutes. Conceptual design is complete. Park was redesigned from the previous presentation and now includes an entry feature element at the center of the south-side of the block. The aerial view features a large butterfly outlined by sidewalks that can be used for exercise. The existing art sculptures memorial benches, and flower areas will remain but will be updated. This park will be the featured botanical garden with an added educational kiosk about native plants and butterflies. Cattlemen's Square, Block L/Park 5/CGA Park Cugust"2, 2022, Minutes. Design and construction are complete. Settlers Square, Block A/Park 4/CGA Park 5. August 16, 2022, Minutes. The conceptual design elements include restrooms with a storage building on the east-end, memorable park entrances at each corner, a Live Oak tree border, six to eight bronze markers placed at prominent locations to highlight the firsts settlers to Okeechobee, and a sculpture of Mr. R.E. Hamrick to be placed on a bench at the flagpole. Shrubs to be removed as needed to open the bandstand area. Seminole Square, Block G/Park 3/CGA Park 4, January 17, 2023, Minutes. Conceptual design is complete. A redesign of the Square will give the existing chickees a purpose as an integral part of the space. New elements include sculptures at the base of the flags, a central plaza area, Flagler Park signage at the Northeast corner, seating area, picnic tables, two shade coverings, and a Seminole- inspired brick paving pattern within the cenfe-F6T the park. The picnic tables and benches will be more purposefully placed for functionality. Veteran's Memorial Square, Block E/Park 1/CGA Park 2, October 18, 2022. The schedule has shifted slightly from what was previously provided. The designs are conceptual in nature and are not intended to be actual construction plans: Veteran's Memorial Square has been redesigned to include seating areas and landscape screens to provide privacy for reflection, relocating some of the existing monuments to allow the center of the park to be open for events and displays.
