M. and the following were present: J. D. Bird, I Ma.yor, H. L. Chandler, President of City Council, Councilmen Ben walker, J. H. II I Walker, Sr., and S. R. Raifsnider, with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, Lon Stewart, Chief of Police, L. W. Jer:mings, City Attorney and L. O~ Tootle, Water Superintendent in attendance. Minutes of meeting hel~ February 4, 1930 were read and a,pproved. Mr. H. H. DeYarman appeared before Council and requested that Council have I I I light pole at intersection of South Park Street and Okeechobee Avenue moved to a new locat~on. The matter was referred to the street Committee. ~r. WID. Griffis addressed Council relative to location of U. S. Army Engineers ! headquarters at Okeechobee while they are engaged in Flood control work in-this s4ction. The matter was referred to the Laws and Rules Committee. ~ Messrs. Ellis and Smith, representing Flørida Power & Light Company appeared before Council with referenae to Droposed street lighting contract. l Councilman Ben Walker moved that Council table street lighting contract pro- '.. ~ posed by Florida Power &: Light Oomuany, motion seconded by Councilman J. H. Wlaker" Sr. and carried. Councilman Raifsnider moved that City Attorney be instructed to prepare an ordimance amending Ordinance No. 120 to provide for a license of $IO.OO -per year for dealers in merchand~se on streets of Okeechobee, motion seconded by Councilman Ben Walker and carried. Councilman Raifsnider moved that President of Council and Clerk be authorized to execute two notes payable to America,n LaFrance and Faomite Industries, Ino. in the sum of $2750.00 eBoh, due in one B,nd two years with interest at 6%. and that l Clerk be authorized to draw voucher in the sum of $183.08 payable to said Company; -~ notes and voucher to be given in payment of account now due said Company by City of Okeec~obee, motion seconded by Councilman J.
