Leadership
Okeechobee
Class of 2022
Dear City Council Members,
Sonya Chapa — President
Our Leadership Okeechobee Class of 2022 is looking to complete our
Nicole Hughes —Vice President
final project. After much discussion, we wish to help support our
downtown revitalization efforts.
Shannon Conrad -Treasurer
This year the group has decided on providing some upgraded
Kaylee King - Secretary
centralized signage to represent the vision of our welcoming
community, which is truly in the center of it all. We have also created a
Tiffany Gould
OR code that will accompany this sign, and it will tie into our
Community Calendar. The team has discussed key target industries and
Jems Dhaiti
chosen photographs that are reflective of the community's tourism,
trade, and heritage.
Randy Worth
We have looked through many various community locations, but have
Shane Snyder
chosen the Chamber of Commerce building as the most suitable central
area to place our signage. Our hope is that this sign can draw the
Richard Reade
attention of visitors, new transplants, and current citizens to a building
that is not only centrally located, but is also providing services that
Twyla Blair
those people can benefit from
Our team has collected information on signage and installation costs
and has received funding from the Tourist Development Council to
partner with us on our final project. Additionally, the Leadership class is
hosting a fundraiser with the intention of providing a fund for future
upkeep and maintenance of the sign.
We seek the approval from the City Council of a revitalized downtown
welcome sign as we feel this project also aligns with your goals and
values for the City of Okeechobee and its' community of residents and
tourists.
Sincerely,
Sonya Chapa
President
Leadership Okeechobee 2022
