,~ The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session I
in the City Hall at 7.30 o'clock p. m. and the following were present: J. D. Bird,
Mayor, H. L. Chandler, President of City Council, Councilmen J. H. Walker, Sr.,
S. R. Raifsnider and Albert Berka with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, Lon stewart, Chief
of Police, L. W. Jennings, City Attorney and L. O. Tootle, Water Superintendent
in attendance.
Minutes of meetings held October 1st, October 4th, October 21st and October
23rd, 1929 were read and approved.
The matter of fees for electrical inspection was referred to Light Committee.
R. P. Fletcher, City Tax Assessor presen~ed the City Tax Assessment Roll for
the year 1929 as completed by him to the City Council for examination by Council.

Councilman Berka moved that Council accept the City Tax Assessment Roll for the
year 1929 as prepared and presented by the City Tax Assessor, motion seconded by
Councilman J. H. Walker, Sr. and carried.
The following certificate was ordered entered inthe minutes of City Council:

We, the undersigned members of the City Council in and £or the City of
Okeechobee, Florida, do hereby certify that we have carefully examined the
foregoing Assessment Roll of said City for the year 1929 and find same correct.,

The following warrant was ordered entered in the minutes of the City Council:

You are hereby commanded to collect out of the property and from each of
the persons, firms and corporations named in the annexed Assessment Roll, the
taxes set down in said Roll opposite each name or parcel of land therein des-
cribed and in case the taxes as extended are not paid by the time prescribed
by law, you are to collect the same in manner as is prescribed by law, and all
money collected you are to account for to the City Council of the City of Okee~
chobee, and you are further required to make all collections and report, and
a final report and settlement with the City Council of said City as required
by law and ordinances.

~ Councilman J. H. Walker, ST. moved that City Tax Collector be authorized to
allow the following discounts on 1929 taxes: 4% in November, 3% in December, 2%
in January and 1% in February, motion seconded by Councilman Rai~snide~ and carried.
Upon motion Council adjourned.
