Too~le, Water Superintendent in attendance. Minutes of meeting held September 11th, 1929 were read. and approved. Mr. Nathan Zelmenovitz addressed the Council with reference to the passage of an ordinance providing for the payment of a license by dealers in furs, hides and junk. - Mr. Peter Tomasello, Jr. addressed OounciL1.n behllf of Mr. Alto Watford as the successor to former Councilman Don P. Johnston. 0O" On motion of Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Berka, Council went into executive session., , :1 Oouncil resumed open session. Ii I' II Oouncilman Raifsnider moved that Oouncil elect a successor to former Councilman Ii . Don P. Johnston, motion seconded by Councilman Berka and carried. Ii The vote was tà.ken by ballot and was as follows: Ii J. H. Walker, Sr. received three votes i 'I Al to Watford received one vote. '; ¡ J. H. Walker, Sr. was declared elected to serve the unexpired term of former II Oouncilman Don P. Johnston. if . Ii On motion of Councilman Berka, seconded by Councilman Walker, Council cancelled!! Johnston. - Mr. O. A. Ruse, representing the Florida Power & Light Company, Mr. H. B. Craven,' repre'senting 'J:he Hanohett Bond Company, Mr. Giles J. Patterson and Mr. Well+ born, representing stranahan, Harris & Oatis, addressed the Council in regard to " the collection of delinquent taxes for the years 1927 and 1928 and the issual by Ci ty of refunding bonds to pay past due interest and principal. Eaoh of the abo'fe named gentlemen recommended to Oouncil that City issue $100,000.00 refunding bonds for the purpose of paying interest and principal and that Council offer a ,~soount on delinquent taxes for tthe years 1927 and 1928 and that all property on which taxes have not been paid be sold at tax sale. ,~ Oouncilman Raifsnider moved that Council authorize the City Tax Collector to allow a discount of 17 mills on taxes for the year 1927 and ~ discount of 5 mills .- on taxes for the year 1928, from this date, provided taxes for said years are paid on or December 1st, 1929, and that all property on which taxes have not been paid by sa.iJ.d date be sold at tax sale on January 6th, 1930, motion seconded by Counoil- man Berka and carried. On motion of Councilman Berka, seconded by Councilman J. H. Walker, Sr., Oouncil instructed the City Attorney to prepare resolution to provide for issuing $100,000. refunding bonds by City. On motion of Councilman Berka, seconded by Councilman Raifsnider, Council approved transfer of $125.00 from Water Fund to General Fund on August 17th, 1929, and authorized the transfer of $75.00 from Water Fund to General Fund.
