Also during the meet-

Okeechobee City Police De-
partment.
The council discussed al-
lowing the deviation from
the standards requiring
sidewalks to be installed by
the Budget Home, LLC tri-
plex project on Northeast
Third Avenue and Fifth
Street. Due to the steep
swales on the property, the
Technical Review Commit-
tee recommends they not
be required to install side-
walks.
Owner of Budget Homes,
LLC, Mike Jimenez said, "I
don't have a problem with
sidewalks, but it's impossi
ble to put one there. You'd
have to put in a culvert, :
and how do you tie into the
driveway? If it was flat land,
I wouldn't have any prob-
lem doing it:' He said he es-
timated the cost to put side -

walks there at $25,000 to
$30,000 which would put
him way over budget. "If I
have to do the sidewalks,
I can't do the job." anThe
council voted four to one
to approve the deviation.
Councilman Bobby Keefe
opposed.
The council discussed the
conceptual plans for the re-
maining Flagler Parks and
were reminded the budget
agreed upon for each park
was $300,000.
During the council com-
ments portion of the meet-
ing Councilman Noel Chan-
dler said he would prefer
the council not accept any
more challenges by outside
groups to match donations.
He said he appreciated the
donations, and if anyone
wants to give, that's won-
derful, but he did not like
being put in that position.

ing will be on March 15 at

Okeechobee, Florida 34974
Dear Mr. Romero
Fifteen years may seem like a long time, but I would be willing to bet you've enjoyed every
minute as a "City Family" member. At this milestone the Mayor and Council would like to
take time during the March 1, 2022, meeting to recognize your contributions to the City.
A presentation is being scheduled at the very start of the meeting, which begins at 6:00
p.m., to extend to you a longevity service certificate and award.
In addition, I would also like to point out another change to your benefits by reaching this
milestone. Beginning in March, your annual leave accrual will increase to 13.3 hours per
month. Just one of the many ways the City says "thank you" for being so dedicated.
It is an honor for me to have this opportunity along with the Mayor and Council to offer a
most sincere, "Congratulations, you did it!" May there be many more years to come.
Should a scheduling conflict arise, please call my office, 763-3372 ext. 9814. We will be
sure and give you a reminder call the day of the meeting. Feel free to invite family
members and friends so they, too, may share in this occasion.
Sincerely,
Lane SGamiotea, (VIC
