The City Oouncil of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session ~ I .. the City Hall at g o'clock P. M. and the following were present: J. D. Bird, Kayor, Don P. Johnston, President of City Council, Councilmen Ben Walker, Albert Berka and H. L. Chandler with R. P. Fletcher, City 01erk, Lon stewart,. Chief of Police and L. W. lennings, City Attorney in attendance. Kinutes of meßting held March 19th, 1929 were read and approved. . Councilman Berka made report as to progress of cahrt er board on new ði ty charter. Mr. K. B. Carson appeared before Oouncil and requested Council to grant xe ---- tax emption on Lot 12, Block 149, as said propßrty is being used by American . Legion and Legion Aux111ary as chapter and club house. -:n . . , J ¡ Councilman Berka moved that Lot 12, Block 149 and the building thereon be' v' exempted from the payment of City taxes so long as the same shall be used and occupied by the American Legion and American Legion Auxillary without payment of rent on same as a chapter and club house, motion seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried. :- Upon motion duly made and seconded the. following resolution was unanimously . adopted: . BE IT RESOLVlD, by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee1 Florida; 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, a municipal corporation of the .tate of Florida, does hereby contract and agree to enter into an agreement with the Florida East Coast Railway Company, a corporation, wherein and whereby said City of Okeechobee is granted the right and privilege to use as KI easement for - crossing purposes only, a strip of land. thirty (30) feet in width east and west by one hundred (100) feet in length north and south across the right-of-way and Il over the track of the said Railway Company at East Okeechobee, Florida, the center """" line of the said strip of land crossing the center line of said Railway OompanY'8 Okeechobee Branch main track at a point four thousand eight hundred thirty-two and five-tenths (4S32. 5) feet easterly from said Railway Company' s Mile Post '139 on the Okeeohobee Branch, all as .more fully described and accordil.g to the further terms and conditions as contained in a true copy of t he proposed agreement hereto attached and made apart hereof. 2. That the )(ayor, with the attestation of the City Clerk, be and they are hereby directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of sa.1;~ Oi ty of Okee- ~obee. Florida. - Il 3. I Ordinance 1123 was proposed by OoŒlcilman Berka, who moved its adoption, :1 motion seconded by OoŒlcilman Walker and carried: Ii OIDINANOE NO. 123. : :i AN ORDIIANOE SETTING THE FEES TO BE ALLOWED OFFIOIALS OF THE CITY OF II OKEEOHOiu, FLORIDA, FOR TRIALS IN MAYOR'S OOURT FOR VIOLATIOJJ OF ',il: JlUNIOIPAL ORDINANOES, AND PROVIDING THAT THEY SHALL BE ASSESSED AS ' COSTS. , i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE KAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OICEECHOBEE, . !I - FLORIDAa ¡ . Section One. That for every conviction or plea of guilty for violation of a 'I ~-: i municipal ordinance of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, the Mayor of said City : shall be entitled to a trial or docket fee in the sum of Two ($2.00) Dollars, and 'the Clerk of said City shall be entitled to a Clerk's fee of One ($1.00) Dollar. That in every such case of conviction or plea of guilty, as aforesaid, the police officer apprehanding the defendant in such caaee shall be entitled to an arresting fee in the sum of Two($2.00) Dollars.
