Bird, Mayor, Don P. Johnston, PTesident of Council, Councilmen H. H. Hancock and
H. L. Chandler with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings, City Attorney, Lon. '
Stewart, Ohief of Police and L. O. Tootle, Water S~erintendent in attendance.
Minutes of December 4th and December 6th, x928 were read and approved. I
The matter of leasing Lots 4, 5 and '&, Block 134 to Vb. Griffis was- referred
to the Water and Light Committee to negotiate terms of proposed lease.
Messr.. Tomasello ànd Pitts appeared before Council rel~tive to Bert,Melville
Players performing under the auspices of the American Legion without the payment
ot City license. ;
Oouncilman Chandler moved that Bert Melville Players be allowed to,perform
under the auspices of the American Legion and that the Oity occupational li#cenee
be remitted to the American Legion, motion seconded bp:ÖOouncilman Hancock and
carried. ~

Councilman-elect Albert Berka appeared befø~e Council and requested that on .
account of the gubernatorial inaugarat1:on on January 8th, 1929, that the lnauguratio~ ~
of the Gi ty Council 'be postponed fro, January 7th, 1929 to January 15th 1929.
Whereupon Councilman H. L. Chandler was appointed as a committee to interview Mr. .
S. R. Raifsnider the other newly elected City Councilman and ascertain whether it
would be agreeable to him. Wnereupon Councilman Chandler retired and upon his
return reported that he had had an interview with Mr. Raifsnider and-that the
postponement of the inauguration of the new City Council from January 7th, 1929 to
January 15th 1929 was satisfactory to Mr. Raifsnider.
Councilman Chandler moved that the inauguration of the new City Council be

postponed from January 7th, 1929 to January 15th, 1929, motion seconded by Council- i
man Hancock and carried.

Councilman Chándler moved that Clerk be authori~ed to transfer $202.56 from
Waterworks Bond Fund to Water Fund, said amount having been paid out of Water Fund
in payment of the fOllowing items: New motor $132.89, freight on motors shipped to
