Mr. J. G. McJeff appeared before Council in reggrd to paving o~ South Park
street and Miami Street and the matter was discussed, but on account of financial
condi tions it was found impossible to work out any mutually agreeable plan. .
Vouncilman Chandler moved that Council authorize Clerk to transfer $lg5.00
from Special General Fund to General Fund, mot10n seconded by CoUnctlman Walker
and carried. I

in the City Hall at 8 o'clcok P. M. ,and the following w~re_present: J. Denham Bird~
Mayor, Isaiah Casey, .President of City Council, Councilmen 5. ~. Chandler, and H.
H. Hancock with L. W. Jennings, Oity Attorney, Lon stewart, Chief of Police, L. O.
Tootle, Water .Superintendent and O. O. Davis in attendance.
City Clerk R. P. Fletcher being absent from the City, on motion o~ Cquncil-
man Chandler, seconded by Councilman Hancock, Council appminted O. O. Davis Deputy
City Clerk temporarily.
Minutes of meeting held July 17th, 1929 were read and approved..
A delegation appeared before Council for the discussion of Or~naqce _illl, ~ I
same being the milk and meat inspection ordinance of the City of Okeechobee.

r- Councilman Walker moved that City purchase gasoline and oil used by City

trucks from Pan American Petroleum Corporation during the remainder of the year
1928, motion seconded by Councilman Chandler and. carried.
Councilman Hancock moved that Oity Clerk be authorized to purchase 200 dog
tags for the year 1928, motion seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried.
. Oouncilman Chandler moved that Clerk be authorized to make the following
transfers of City funds: $930.00 from I&S 1926 Bond Fund 127 to Special General
. Fund #28; $2g5.00 from I&S 1924 Bond Fund #17 to Special General Fund #28;
$1,225.00 from Special General Fund #28 to General Fund, motion seconded by
.- Councilman Walker and carried.

The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session
in the City Hall at 8 o'clock P. M. and the following were present: J. Denham Bird, 1
Mayor, Isaiah Casey, President of Oity Council, Councilmen H. H. Hancock, Don P.
Johnston, H. L. Chandler and Ben Walker with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk, Lon stew-
art, Chief of Police, L. C. Tootle, Water Superintendent and L. W. Jennings, City
Attorney in attendance.
Minutes of meeting held August 2ls:b,. 1928 were read and approved.
Rev. R. L. Mixon appeared before Council and requested Council to exempt City
r- taxes for the year 1927 on Lots 1 and 2, Block 40, First Addition to South Okeecho-
bee, as said lots are now owned by Church of God.
-- Councilman Hancock moved that Council authorize City Tax Collector to exempt
City taxes for the year 1927 on Lots I and 2, Block 40, First Addition to South
Okeechobee, motion seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried.
Mayor Bird recommended that street light at intersection of Miami and Second
Ii Streets, Sou",h Okeechobee be moved to intersection of Third Street and Parrott
Avenue, South Okeechobee, and that white way light in front of p.aicture show be
repaired. I
Councilman Walker moved that Council authorize Florida Power & Light Company
~ to move street light now located.at intersection of Miami and Second streets, South
Okeechobee to intersection of Third Street and Parrott Avenue, South Okeechobee,
motion seconded by Oouncilman Johnston and carried.
Councilman Johnston moved that City ~ay J. B. Atkinson $6.50 amount received
in addition to pound fees from sale of horse by Chief of Police Which was owned
by J. B. Atkinson, motion seconded by. Councilman Hancock and carried.
Councilman Chandler moved that Clerk be authorized to transfer $280.00 from
