Okeechobee, Florida, May 15th, 1925. I
r- The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session I
in the City Hall at 8 o'clock P. M. and the following were present: J. Denham Bird,
Mayor, Isaiah Casey, President of City Council, Councilmen Don P. Johnston, Ben,
Walker, H. H. Hancock and H. L. Chandler with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings,1

Ci ty Attorney and Lon Stewart, Chief of Police in attendance.
Minutes of meeting held May 1st, 1928 were read and approved.
Mrs. Worth appeared before Council and requested permission to erect a sign
in front of her restaurant.
C)UIlcilman Hancock moved that Oouncil grant Mrs. Worth permission to erect a

ey and City Clerk to appear before the Board of County Commissioners relative to th ~
payment of road and bridge funds due City of Okeechobee by Okeechobee Oounty, motio
seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. I

Councilman Hancock moved that Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute I
. agreement between City of Okeechobee and Seaboard Air Line Railway Company relative I
to crosssing over said railway on Hillsborough Street, motion seconded by Council-
man Johnston and carried.
Mr. George Emrich, representing G. B. Sawyers who operates under the style of
G. B. Sawyers Company, proposed to enter into refinancing contract with Oity of
Okeechobee and Peoples Bank of Okeechobee and tendered and proposed a draft of I
. said contract.
The.following resolution was offered by Councilman Hancock, who moved its
~ adoption, motion seconded by Councilman Ohandler and unanimously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, that I
- the refinancing contract as presented and prop sed by G. B. Sawyers Company through I
its agent George Emrich, be and the same is hereb, accepted, and the President of II
the City Council and the City Olerk of the City of Okeechobee be and they are hereb~
authorized to execute said contract in behalf of said City.
Upon motion Council adjourned.
