Oi ty Attorney in attendance. 'I Minutes of meeting held December 20th, 1927 were read a.nd apuroved.¡ , Mayor Bird administered the oath of office to Councilman-elect Don P. Johnston:1 to serve the unexpired term of former Councilman Leon Latour. - Mr. Ellis, representing the Florida Power & Light Company presented agreement ;-.. providing rates for power at City. pumping station, and after discussing the matter Council deferred action on same until next regular meeting. Communications were received from Messrs. C. E. Simmons and J. G. McNeff. Mr. G. H. Brown requested Council to pay him salary of $25.00 per month as City buildi~g inspector. Councilman Hancock moved that City Tax Collector be authorized to credit the sum of $188.04 on personal taxes due City of Okeechobee for the year 1925 by L. M. I Raulerson; Said amount being due L. M. Raulerson for merchandise purchased by City of Okeechobee during the year 19~. motion seconded by Councilman Chandler and pas- ad. Council resumed open session. Council discussed the matter of entering into contract with Florida Power ~ & Light Company to furnish power at City's pumping plant. ~ ,,: Upon motion by Councilman Hancock, seconded by Councilman Johnston, ,Council went into executive session. ¡ Council resum,d open session. 1 Upon motion by Councilman Wa,lker, duly seconded and carried, Council adjourned to meet at 1 oclock P. m. January 20th, 1929. Pursuant to adjournment the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida~ ~.t át the'Oity Hall at 1 o'clock p. m. On January 20th, 1929 and the following were present: J. W. Jennings, City Attorne~, in attendance. Councilman Hancock moved that City enter into contract, with rate schedule' ( No, 214 attached ^nd as addended by executed letter, with Florida Power &.. Light , I Company for furnishing power for City's water pumping plant, and that President of '\ I =, ï Council and City Jlerk be authorized to execute said contract and addenda, motion --.. seconded by Councilman Johnston and passed. Councilman Joñnston moved that City authorize Florida Power & Light Company to purchase for the City of Okechobee one 200 gallon per minute centrifugal pump complete with motor and other necessary attachments for use at City's water pump- ing plant, said PUJIp to be sold to City on twelve months time, motion seconded by ¡ Councilma,n Walker and passed.
