The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida met in regular session at -
7.30 o'clock p. m. on the above date and the following were present: T. W. Conely, Jr.
Mayor, H. H. Deïarman, President of Council, Councilmen H. H. Hancock, H. T. Bass,'
and L. F.Scharfschwerdt with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, F. E. Lawrence, City Engineer,
W. E. Darrow, Assistant City Engibeer and Clint Bass, Chief of Police in attendance.
Mimutes of meetings held October 14th, 20th, 26th and 27th were read and ap-
e proved.
Messrs Peter Raulerson and H. L. Raulerson appeared before the Council relative
to the North street line of Second Street in South Okeechobee between Parrott Ave-
nue and Kissimmee Street, and requested the Council to have another survey made to
establish said street line, and the Council instructed the City Engineer to make

survey to establish said street line.
Mr. Wm. Vickers appeared before the Council and requested the Council to open
and grade street in Vicker's Woodland Park Subdivision. Mr. Vickers was advised
that City could not make improvements requested at this time,
Mr. R. M. Mitchum addressed the Council relative to ~he delay in receiving
shipments of materials for City water måins and filtration plant,and suggested that
the City contribute to the salary of a traffic manager whose duty shall be to expe-

dite the shipment of freight into Okeechobee.
Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hancoök,that Council
appropriate $50.00 per month to be used in paying salary of Traffic Manager for
City of Okeechobee. Motion passed.
Upon motion by Councilman Hancock seconded by Cpuncilman Bass,the Council
authorized the purchase of paint to paint water ta,nk. :

APplication of J. W. Hampton for position of Chief of Fire Department of City
of Okeechobee was read.

Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hancock that J. W.
Hampton be apnointed Chief of the Fire Depar~m~n~ of the City of Okeechobee at a
salary of $150.00 Der month. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfsohwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bass, that
Seaboard Air Line Railway Company be permitted to pave a 40 foot strip of Fourteenth
Street on North side of said street from Osceola Street to Parrott Avenue. This to
be used by trucks and teams unloading from cars on track to be built on Seaboard Air
Line right-of-way South of main line from Osceola Street to Parrott Avenue. It
being understood that City Council will do nothing to interfere with above. Motion -
passed.

Upon motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Oounvilman Scharfschwerdt, the
Council fi.ad P. L. Garrett's wages at 125.00 per week.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt, seconded by Councilman Hancock,
that Southern Utilities Company be authorized to make connection with the white
way system in Fordham & Kirkland's subdivisions and charge bills for electric

~ Upon motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Scharfschwerdt, the
Building Inspector was instructed to waive all building inspection fees on Baptist
Church.
Upon mmotion by Councilman Hancock, seconded by Councilman Bass, General Fund
voucher 1101 dated April 7th, 1921 drawn in favor Donnell & Hamrick for the sum
of $25.00 was ordered cancelled.
The City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year
1925 to the City Council for its acceutance.
Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hancock, that the
City Council accept the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1925 as presented by
the City Tax Assessor. Motion passed.

The following warrant was ordered entered in the minutes:
To Clint Bass, Tax Collector of the City of Okeechobee.
You are hereby commanded to collect out of the property and from each of the

persons, firms and corporations named in the annexed Assessment ROll, the taxes!
set down on said Roll opposite each name or parcel of land therein described and
in case the taxes as extended are no~ paid by the time prescribed by law, you are
to collect the same in manner as is prescribed by law and all money collected you
are to account for to the City Council of the City of Okeechobee and you are fur-
ther required to make all collections and report and a final report to and settle-
ment with the. City Council of said City as required by law and ordinances.

Upon motion by Councilman Scharfschwerdt duly seconded and carried, the Tax
Collector was instructed to allow a discount of 2% on all taxes paid during the
mQnth of Nove.ber and l~ during the month of Deoember.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bass
that Council call an election at the earliest date pOssible to provide for issuing
bonds for municipal improvements, including street paving, extension of water and
sewer systems, erection of City ~ll, beautification and improvement of city parks
and extension of white way system. Motion passed.

Pursuant to call of President of Council H. H. DeYarman, acting Mayor in
absence of Mayor Conely from City, the City Council met at 7.30 o'clock P. M. on the
above date in special session and the following were present: H. H. DeYarman, President,
Councilmen H. H. Hancock, J. D. Bird, L. F. Scharfsohwerdt and H. T. Bass with R. P.
Fletcher, Clerk and W. E. Darrow, Associate City Engineer in attendance.
President DeYarman stated that the meeting of the Council had been called
for the purpose of conferring with thenCity Engineer in regard to certain street
improvemen ts.
Mr. W. E. Darrow addressed the Council relative to the width of paving and
location of curb line on South Park Street.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt and duly seconded and carried
that curb line on North side of South Park Street be fixed on Park line making width
of street 58 feet between each curb line.
Upon motion Council adjourned. ~
