Okeechobee, Florida, Oct. 27, 1925.
- Pursuant to advertisement in the Okeechobee Newa, a newspaper published in the
Cit~.~j~~k~hJ~e, Florida, the City Council met in special session at 2.00 o'clock
p. mj( for the purpose of receiving and considering bids for grading and paving
streets and constructing a sewer main, and the following were present: T. W. Conely,
Jr., Mayor, H. H. DeYarman, President of Council, Councilmen H. H. Hancock, J. D.
Asst.
Bird and H. T. Bass, with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, W. E. Darrow/City Engineer and
L. W. Jennings, City Attorney in attendance.
Kayor Conely stated that the Council had met for the purpose of receiving and
considering bids for street improvements and construction of sewer main.
Sealed bids were received and opened in open session from the following:
C. A. Steed and Sons and P. W. Kerr.

The Council went into executive session to consider the bids.above mentioned,
and after cons"der~ng sameLthe Council then resumed open session.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass that the Council
award contract to O. A. Steed & Sons for grading and paving streets and construotine
sewer main. Motion carried.
Messrs Saxon, Pearce and Drwwdy appeared before the Council with reference to
the closing of Second Street in South Okeechobee between Kissimee Street and Parrott
Avenue and requested the Council not to close said street, and they were assured that
said street would not be closed.
Upon motion duly seconded and carried Council approved plat of Carey's Sub-
division of Okeechobee.
Mr. J. G. McNeff appeared before the Council and requested the Council to
advertising the Southland Hotel
permit him to erect a !!salin the City park North of the Highway Filling Station,
~ and after considering same,Oouncil ~efus4d to grant his request.
Upon motion the Council adjourned.
