The City Council met in regular session at 7.30 o'clock p. m. on the above date
and the following were present: H. H. DeYarman, President of City Council, Oouncil- -
men H. T. Bass, L. r. Scharfschwerdt, J. D. Bird and H. H. Hanoook, with R. P. Flet-
-..
cher, Clerk, Clint Bass, Chief of Police and L. W. Jennings, City Attorney in atten-
dance.
~inutes of meetings held September 2gth, September 29th, September 30th, Oot-
ober 6th and October 12th were read and approved.
Upon motion by Councilman Soharfschwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bird, the City
Clerk was instructed to notify the S8uthera Utilities Company te install street
lights on the follawing streets: Hiwassee St~et from North Park Street to Eleventh
Street; Parrott Avenue from Tenth Avenue to Fourteenth Street; One light on Plaza
and Center Streets, Riverside Park Addition to Okeechobee.
Mr. D. R. McNeill addressed the Oounoil in regard to building restriotions,and
requested the Council to mOdify the building ordinance insofar as it relates to
the busiBess sections of the City.
Upon motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman HanooOk, the Council

approved the following subdivision plats: Woodland Park, Evan's Addition to Okee-
chobee, arrange Terrace.
Motion was made by Councilman Hanoock, seconded by Councilman Bass, that City --
extend 6 inch water main on Hiwassee Street from Tenth Avenue to Eleventh Street.
Motion passed.
Mr. A. Freedman appeae4d before the Council and requested the Council to furnish
water to the bungalow village near the West City limits.
Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hancock, that City
furnish water to the bungalow village near the West City limits. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Councilman Hanoock, seconded by Councilman Bird, that Street
Committee negotiate with the owners of land between Wright's Addition and Okeeohobee-
Development Company's Subdivision on the South and Notth Park Street on the North
with the view of obtaining the dedication of streets through this property.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Soharfschwerdt, that
City buy the Chief of Police and each policeman a uniform. Motion carried.
Ordinance * 99 was offered by Councilman Sobarfsohwerdt, seconded by Oouncilman
Hanoock and adopted by unanimous vote:

Section 1. Section three of Ordinance Number 70 of the Ordinances of the City
of Okeechobee, Florida is hereby amended to read as follows:
'Section 3. After making of any inspection as provided for in Sections one
and two of this ordinance the City Inspeotor shall be entitled to collect One
Dollar .from the person or persons, firm or corporation owning the property or pre-
mises on which the ~nspeotioawas made. for the inspection of the first tap or
connection and fifty cents for each additional tap or connection, whioh shall con-
stitute his only compensation. Any person refusing to pay the said fee shall have

his water or sewerage as the case may be cut off until he shall make such payment.
.
After any such water or sewerage shall have been cut off the owner shall be required
to pay an additional fee of two dollar~ for a reconnection.'
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval by
the .Mayor.

Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass that City
purchase all gasoline, oil and kerosene used by City from the Gulf Refining Oom~
pany for one year beginning November 1st, 1925. Motion carried.
Upon motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Hancock, the Clerk was
instructed to notify Peter Raulerson and R. L. Pearce to move building out of Second
Street in South Okeechobee.
Upon motion duly seconded and carried the Council adjourned.
