Pursuant to adjournment the City Council met in special session at 7.30 o'clock
p. m. on the above date IIIXII for the purpose of receiving and considering complaints
of all persons whose City tax assessments for the year 1925 have been increased by
the City Council, and the following were present: T. W. Conely, Jr.) Mayor, Oounoil-
men J. Denham Bird, L. F. Scharfsohwerdt and H. H. Hanoock with R. P. Fletcher, Clert.

the year 1926 and fixing the tax levy for said year.
Pursuant to adjournment the City Council met at 7.30 o'clook p. m. October 14th

Motion was made by Councilman Soharfsohwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bass that
City grant Seaboard Air Line Railway Company permission tebuild a team track on -,
its right of way North of Fourteenth Street between Parrott Avenue and Osceola Street
and pave Fourteenth Street from Parrott Avenue to Osceola Street. Motion passed.
Upon motion duly seconded and carried the Council adopted the follGWing budget

AI ORDIIANOE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1.925.
~ BE IT ORDAlHED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEEOHOBEE, FLOR-
IDA;
SEOTION 1. That the Oityof Okeechobee, Florida hereby levy a tax of thirty
(30) mills on each dollar valuation of real and personal property within the cor-
porate limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, subject to taxation the first day
January A. D. 1925. Such tax to be ..sessed and collected in the manner provided by
law.
SEOTION II. That eleven (11) mills of such tax shall be used for general City
purposes; that two (2) mills of such tax shall be used for fire protection; that
two (2) mills of such tax shall be used for 'the interest and sinking paving bond
fund, issue of 1920; that one (1) mill of such tax shall be used for tnterest:'&f1sink-
ing water works bond fund, issue of 1920; that one (1) mill of such tax shall be
used for a publioi;y fund; thåt one (1) mill of such tax shall be used for park

- fund; that two/m1lls of such tax shall be used for interest and sinking water-sewer
time warrant fund; that four (4) mills of such tax shall be used for interest and
sinking bond fund, issue of 1924; that four and one-half (4;) mills of such tax
shall be used for interest and sinking water works extension bond fund, issue of
1925; that one and one-half (ll) mills of such tax,shall be used for interest and
sinking time warrant fund, issue of 1925.
SIOTIOB III. It shall be the duty of the City Tax Collector and City Clerk to
divide the pr8oeeds received from said taxes into various funas as set out above
and keep account thereof as may be directed by the ~yor and City Council.
-SEOrIOI IV. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after
its passage and approval by the Mayor.
Read a first time, read a second time, both times by unanimous consent and
passed to a third reading ~d passed in open session upon a third reading this 14th
day of October A. D. 1925.

The City Oouncil met in regular session at 7.30 o'olock p. m. on the above date

dance.
:tlinutes of meetings held September 2gth, September 29th, September 30th, Oct-
ober 6th and October l2th were read and approved.
Upon motion by Councilman Scharfschwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bird, the City
Clerk was instructed to notify the Saathera Utilities Company to install street
lights on the following streets: Hiwassee St~et from North Park Street to Eleventh
Street; Parrott Avenue from Tenth Avenue to Fourteenth Street; One light on Plaza
and Center Streets, Riverside Park Addition to Okeechobee.
Mr. D. R. McNeill addressed the Oounoil in regard to building restriotions,and
requested the Council to modify the building ordinance insofar as it relates to
the busiBess sections of the City.
Upon motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hanoook, the Oouncil

approved the following subdivision plats: Woodland Park, Evan's Addition to Okee-
chobee, arrange Terrace.
Motion was made by Councilman HanoGck, seconded by Councilman Bass, that Oity-'
extend 6 inch water main on Hiwassee Street from Tenth Avenue to Eleventh Street.
Motion passed.
Mr. A. Freedman appeae4d before the Council and requested the Council to furnish
water to the bungalow village near the West City limits.
Mot1on was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Hanoook, that City

Motion was made by Councilman Hancook, seconded by Councilman Bird, that Street
Committee negotiate with the owners of land between Wright's Addition and Okeechobee .~
Development Company's Subdivision on the South and Notth Park Street on the North
with the view of obtaining the dedication of streets through this property.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Soharfschwerdt, that
City buy the Chief of Police and each policeman a uniform. Motion carried.
