The City Council met in regular session at 7.45 o'clock p. m. on the above date
and the following were present: T. W. Conely, Jr., 11ayor, H. H. DeYarman, President
of City Council, ~ouncilmen: H. T. Bass, L. F. Scharfschwerdt and J. Denham Bird,
with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings, City Attorney, and Clint Bass, Chief of
Police in attendance.

Mr. Humphreys requested the Council to extend the sewer line from First street i

to a point oposite Mrs. McLenna's boarding house 04 Parrott Avenue.
Upon motior. by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilr:.an Bird the City Engineer
was instructed to take up with the Florida East Coast Railway Company the matter
of rylacing l~rger culverts under its tracks on Seventh street.

thorized the City Engineer to advertise for bids on municipal improvements according
to plans as arepared by City Engineer.

AN ORDInANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO OPERATE AN AUTOMOBILE WHILE UNDER THE IN-
- FDUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS; DEFINING WHAT IS UNDER THE I1Ht"'LUENCE OF INTOXICAT-
ING LIQUORS AND PROVIDING PUNISHMENT FOR TH~ VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAIIŒD BY THE 1~YOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA.
Section 1. It shal: be and it is hereby made u~lawful and a violation of this
ordinance for any persmn to operate a gasoline propelled vehicle, com~lonly known as
an automobile, on the streets of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, while under the

influence of intoxicating liquors. "Under the influence of intoxicating liquors" as
used in this ordirnnce s~all be construed to mean having imbibed sufficient al- ---
coho lie beverages to cause the driiTer of said autofml>bile not to be in full posses-
sion of all his mental faculties.
Section 2. Any person violating the provisions of Section 1 of this ordinance
shall ae punished JY a fine of not less than One lrondred ($lOO.OO)Dollars of more
than Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars or by imprisonment not less than thirty days
or ~ore th&n sixty days, or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
llayor.
