was instructed to prepare ordinance providing for the punishment of persons driving
automobile while drumk and driving automobile in a reckless manner.

~eat inspection fee be paid to County Veterinarian to help pay his salary. Motion
passed.
Upon motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by CouncilITan Scharfschwerdt, the
Council authorized the purchase of one car of rock.

chobee Time Warrantt. aggregating Forty-severJ. Thousand Five Hundred ($47,500.00)
Dollars plus accr~ed interest, and that he had been unable to secure any other

offers.
Mr. DeYarman requested the Clerk to read the offer.

WHEREAS, Cit:, Council of City of Okeechobee, Florida, did on July 7th, A. D. l
1925, pass ordina:.ce No. 93 which was regularly ap-oroved by the Mayor, and ~

WHEREAS, said Ordinance provided for the issuance and sale of Time ttarrants
of the City of Okeechobee of the par va,lue of Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars,
said sale to be rc:de pursuant to the provisions of said Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said Time Warrants were advertised for sale in Okeechobee News, 1¿an-
ufacturers Record and !he Bond Buyer the required length of time, and
WHEREAS, on the sale date to-wit, August lSth, 1925, no sealed bids or auction
bids were received, and

The City Council met in regular session at 7.45 o'clock p. m. on the above date
and the following were present: T. W. Conely, Jr., Mayor, H. H. DeYarman, President
of City Council, Gouncilmen: H. T. Bass, L. F. Scharfschwerdt and J. Denham Bird,
with R. P. Fletcher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings, City Attorney, and Clint Bass, Chief of
Police in attendance.
Minutes of meetings held August lSth aDd August 27th were read and approved.
~r. Hw;jphreys requested the Council to extend the sewer line from First street
to a point oposite Mrs. McLenna's boarding house on Parrott Avenue.

Upon motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilrr.an Bird the City Engineer
was instructed to take up with the Florida East Coast Railway Company the matter
of rylacing larger culverts under its tracks on Seventh street.

thorized the City Engineer to advertise for bids on municipal improvements according
to plans as orepared by City Engineer.

- FtrnENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS; DEFINING WHAT IS UNDER THE IN~"LUENCE OF INTOXICAT-
ING LIQUORS AND PROVIDING PUNISHMENT FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA.
Section l. It shal:- 'be and it is hereby made unlawful and a violation of this
ordinance for any perscbn to operate a gasoline propelled vehicle, comr:lonly known as
an a~tomobile, on the streets of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, while under the
