The City Council of Okeeohobee, Florida met in regulir session at 8 o'clock p. m. on the above date and the following members were present: T. W. Conely, Jr., Mayor, H. H. DeYarman, President City Council, Councilmen L. F. Scharfschwerdt, ,H. _T~ Bass and J. Denham Bird with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk~ F. E. Lawrence~ City Engi- neer, B. L. Jennings, Jr., City Attorney and Clint Bass, Chief of Police in attend- ance. Minutes of meeting ~eld May 19th were read and approved. Mr. F. E. Lawrence, City Engineer, addressed the Council in r~d to the railroad crossings over Florida East Coast Railway Company's tracks on Cherokee and Tallahassee Streets, and he was instructed to take the matter up further With; said Company in r~d to crossing on Tallahassee Street~ ,I. Mr. C. H. Upom motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass and carried, the Council sewer line extended to East side of Blook 169. Mr. W. G. Stovall appeared before the Council in re@lrd to the pond Wast of the School House and requested Council to have said pond filled in. Upon motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Scharfschwerdt and duly carried, Steve Evans was granted permission to erect tent for one week on North end of lot 12, block 165. -- Upon motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass, the Olerk.was in- -- structed to inform the Southern Utilities Company to extend the street lights on Fifth Avenue from Parrott Avenue to connect with street light at Baptist Church. UpQn motion by Councilman Bird~ seconded by Councilman Bass and duly carried, G. H. B;own was appointed Building Inspector of the City of Okeechobee at a salary of 1100,00 per month. UpQn motion by Councilman Schfrfsohwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bird the Oounoil,inoreased the salary of James Pridgen from $90.00 to $lOO.OO per month be- ginning June 1st, 1925. Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seoonde4 by Councilman Scharfschwerdt that salary of W. C. Boone be paid as follows: Water Fund $100.00; General Fund $25.00; Fire Protection Fund $25.00. Motion passed. Mot10n was ma~e by Oouncilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Soharfschwerdt that \ as specified in R. M. Mitohum be awarded contract for furnishing all material and labor/III Sections one and three of Water Works Extension Specifications for the sum of $46,053.67. Motion passed. ~ Motion was made by Councilman Soharfschwerdt~ seconded by Councilman Bass that The Bowyer Company be awarded contract for furnishing all material and labor as specified in Section two of Water Works Extension Specifications, provided said Company executes contract satisfactory to City of Okeeohobee.
