r The City Council met in regular session at 8 o'clock P. M. on the above date and.
,the following were present: T. W. Oonely~ Jr., Mayor, H. H. DeYarman~ President City
Council, Councilmen J. Denham Bird, I. "F. Scharfsohwerdt~ H. T. Bass ~nd H. H. Han-
cook with R. P. Fletcher~ City Olerk~ F. E. Lawrenoe~ City Engineer~ Clint Bass,
Chief of Police and B. L. Jennings~ Jr., City Attorney in attendance.
Minutes of meetings held April 24th~ May 5th and May llth and May l8th were
read and approved.
Mr. G. H. Brown appeared before the Council in regard to position at City
Pumping Plant at Lake Okeeohobee.
- Â delegation of citizens from South Okeechobee appeared before the Council with
reference to having Hicpoohee and Third Streets in South Okeeohobee grubbed and i

graded by the City.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass that City have
grubbed and graded
HicpÐohee and Third Streets in South Okeechobee!by City prisoners ,or when funds are
available for this work. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Councilman Hancook~ seconded by Councilman Bass that the Oit~
Attorney be instructed to draw an ordinance providing that owners of property ad-
jaoent to paved streets be required to have same grubbed. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt~ seconded by Councilman Bass that
City Clerk be instructed to discontinue issuing permits for water connections until
water supply of City has been increased. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Hanoock that City
have a three inch well driven for the purpose of providing an additional supply of
water~ and that City Clerk be instructed to isaue permits for water connections
when an additional supply of water is obtained. Motion passed.
Motion, was made by Councilman Bird~ seconded by Councilman Soharfschwerdt and
duly carried that City Clerk be instructed to JI..~I notify J. B. Atkinson and North
Park Service Stattion to remove gasoline filling pump now located in street in front'
of North Park Service Station at least two and one-half feet north from its present'
location.
Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt~ seoonde~ by Councilman B1rd~ that
City accept proposal of Okeechobee Company to pave Seventh Street from Hlwassee
Street to Private Way near Taylor Creek, said Company to pay all costs-of grading
and paving and City to p~y one-third of cost of,paving at time of payment of 1925
-- taxes by Okeeohobee Oompany. Motion passed.
Ordinance 10.89 was introduced by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman
Hanoook and passed by unanimous vote:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND OITY COUNCIL or THE OITY OF OXEEOHOBEE, FLORIDA:
Section l. That section 2 of ordinaoe N°.-79 of the City of Okeeohobee, Florida,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as-follows:
Fire Limits--- There shall be and there is hereby established an inner fite
limits and outer fire limits. The inner fire limits shall include all the territory
in the oong~sted business district, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of Eighth
Street and Okeeohobee Avenue~ running thence South to the intersection of.Seventh
Street and Okeeohobee Avenue~ running thence East down Seventh Street to Taylor's
Creek, thence in a Northeasterly dieeotion along said Creek to Oklooknee Street to -.
the middle of Blook 149, thence West down the Alley which runs through Blooks 149,

l50, 151, 152, l53 and 154 to Parrott Avenue~ thence North to the.interseotion of
Eighth Street and Parrott Avenue~ and running thence West down Eighth Street to
point of beginning.
The outer fire limite shall include all that territory immediately surrounding
or bordering on the inner fire limits to wit: Beginning at the intersection of Ninth
Street and Okeechobee Avenue, thence South to the intersection of Eighth Street and
Okeeohobee Avenue, thence East to the intersection of Eighth Street and Parrott
Avenue, thence South to the middle of Blook 154, and thence East down the alley whibh
runs through Blocks l54, 153, 1J2, l5l~ 150 and l49 to Taylor's Oreek~ thence in a
Northeasterly direction along-said Creek to Ninth Street, thence West along Ninth
Street to point of beginning. Also beginning at the intersection of Seventh Street
and Okeeohobee Avenue running thence South to the intersection of Sixth Street and
Okeeohobee Avenue, running thence East to intersection of Sixth Street and Parrott

Avenue~ running thence Borth to the intersection of Seventh Street and Parrott I
Avenue~ and running thence West down Seventh Street to point of beginning.

Section 2. This ordinance shall in no wise affect or invalidate any of the I
provisions of said ordinance 79 except as herein stated, and said ordinance 79 is J
to be considered in full force and effect according to the provisions therein con :
tained except such as are altered or o~ged by this ordinance. ¡
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inodKsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage and approval by the Mayor.

The City Council of Okeeohobee, Florida met in regulir session at g o'clock
p. m. on the above date and the following members were present: T. W. Conely, Jr.,
Mayor, H. H. DeYarman, President City Council, Councilmen L. F. Scharfschwerdt, H. T~

Bass and J. Denham Bird with R. P. Fletcher, City Clerk, F. E. Lawrence, City Engi-
neer, B. L. Jennings, Jr., City Attorney and Clint Bass~ Chief of Police in attend-
ance.
Minutes of meeting ~eld May 19th were read and approved.
Mr. F. E. Lawrence, City Engineer, addressed the Council in r~d to the
railroad crossings over Florida East Coast Railway Company's tracks on Cherokee 1
,- and Tallahassee Streets, and he was instructed to take the matter up further with
said Company in r~d to crossing on Tallahassee Street.
Mr. O. Bradford appeared before the Oouncil and submitted a prOposed ordinance )11
to the Council relative to the license and bond for canvassing salesmen in the City
of Okeechobee, and said ordinance was referred to the City Attorney with instruction~
to report on same at next meeting of the Council.
