The City Council met in regular session at 7.45 o'clock P. m. on the above ~
date and the following were present: T. W. Conely~ Jr., Mayor~ H. H. DeYarman~
President of Oounoil~ Councilmen H. T. Bass~ L. F. Soharfsohwerdt and J. Denham
Bird with R. P. Fletoher, Clerk, B. L. Jennings, Jr., City Attorney and Clint Bass,
Chief of Police in attendance,
Minutes of meetings of Oounoil held Karoh 17, Karoh 19 and April 3rd were
read and approved.
Mr, F. E. Lawrenoe~ City Engineer, addressed the Council in regard to the
water supply for the City.

Upon motion by Oounoilman Scharfsohwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bass and

dulyoarried, City Engineer F. E. Lawrenoe was authorized to employ~man to run

small pump at night.
Mr. R. M. Mitohum addressed the Council relative to contract for laying
water main from City limits to Lake Okeeohobee.
Mr. Giblin appeared before the Oounoil in behalf of Mr. L. A. Hough and re-
quested that Oounoil grant Mr. Hough permission to erect a tent on his lot on North
Park Street.
Upon motion by Councilman Bird, duly seconded and carried the Counoil granted
L. A. Hough permiss10n to erect a tent on his lot on North Park Street for a per-

iod of four months trom date, provided that if the Council reoeive!Lapplioation
for the erection of a tent or similar structure within the fire limits of Okeeoho-
bee, Florida he shall at once remove said tent from said lot.
Kessrs. H. L. Chandler and D. L. MaoGlashan appeared before the council and
requested the Oounoil to close parts of North Curve Street and South Curve Street.

Motion was made by Councilman Bass~ seconded by Councilman Bird that the
Florida East Coast Railyway Company be required to fix crossings over its tracks on

Tallahassee and Cherokee Streets. Motion passed.
Upon motion by Councilman Bird, seconded by Oouncilman Bass and duly carried,

Petition was received from citizens in East Okeeohobee requesting Oounoil to

Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass and carried
that Southern Utilities Company be required to install ten street lights on North
Park Street between Hanoock Street ~d East City limits. -
Motion was made by Councilman Ba8s, seconded by Councilman Bird that Oounoil
Purohase a Ford truck and have bOdy built for same. Motion passed.
Kotion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Oouncilman Sohartsohwerdt and
carried that the Council buy one uniform"" each year for each of the following
officers: Chief of Police, Hight Policeman and Chief of Fire Department.

APplioation of J. W. Lewis for the position of water superintendent and engi-
neer was received and filed.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Soharfsohwerdt that
bill of H. O. Griffin for repairs to automobile be referred to Mitchum & Barnes for,
payment and that they be required to move all water pipe a safe distance from the
pavement. Motion passed.
