Section II. A bank or banks or other depository to be designated by the City Oounoil shall receive and be custodian of said bonds and all moneys arising from the sale of said bonds. Section III. The City Oounoil shall advertise for bids for work to be done for which bonds are issued under this Ordinance and Ordinance number ð5 of the Or- dinanoes of the City of Okeeohobee, Florida, making contracts with the lowest re-.." sponsiÞle bidder~ who shall himself give bond for the faithful performance of the' work, but the said Council shall have the right to reject any or all bids received. They shall personally or through proper agents, select all materials and have super- ~ vision and charge of the work for which bonds are issued under said Ordinances, aDd shall audit all accounts connected with such work and shall pay the same by check on banks or depositories handling the proceeds of sale of said bonds. -' -----. - . ------... In the event there is remaining in the bank or banks or other depository an unexpended balance from the sale of the bonds issued under the pro- ~ visions of this ordinance or of Ordinance number 85 of the Ordinances of the City - j of Okeeohobee, Florida, after the work entrusted to them has been completed, the City Council shall invest such balance in such interest bearing securities as they I mayeleot, to be approved by the Mayor, and such securities shall be turned over by them to the City depositor, and the proceeds thereof to be applied to the pay- ment of the bonds or the interest thereof as directed by resolution of the City Council. Section V. It shall be the duty of the City Oounoil, to levy annually by tax upon the taxable property in said City a sum euffioient to meet the amount annual¥r - required to be raised to pay interest and create ,a sinking fund to pay the principal : of the bonds provided for herein. Such tax s~all be levied and collected as other taxes of said Oity, Section VI. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section VII. The City Council met in regular session at 7.30 o'clock P. M. on the above date and the following were present: H. H. DeYarman, President~ Councilmen J. Den- ham Bird, L. r. Soharfsohwerdt, H. H. Hanoook and H. T. Bass with R. P. Fletoher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings~ City Attorney and Clint Bass Chief of Police in attendance. Minutes of meetings held February l7th~ 25th and 26th were read and approved. Mr. F. E. Lawrence, City Engineer, made report to the Council in regard to opening South Park Street to West City limits. Mr. J. H. 'Saxon addressed the Council in regard to the City employing the Atlantio Film Company to make moving picture of resources and industries of Okee- ohobee and Okeeohobee County. Motion was made by Councilman Bird, seconded by Councilman Bass that Council enter into contract with Atlantio Film Company to make a three reel moving picture pr~vided that the Board of County Commissioners of Okeeohobee County will pay one- half of the cost of said picture, and said picture to cost said City and County $1250.00 each. Motion passed. Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Scharfsohwerdt that the President of City Council and City Clerk be authorized to execute oon- tract with Atlantio Film Company. Motion passed. Motion was made by Councilman Scharfschwerdt~ seconded by Councilman Bird and carried that City have four speed limit signs made and painted and placed at the North, South, East and West limits of the City. Motion was made by Councilman Soharfschwerdt, seconded by Councilman Bass abd carried that the Chief of Police be instructed to kill the blind horse owned by the City. Motion was made by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilman Bird that the City Tax Collector be instructed to keep the City Tax Roll for the year 1924 open for the payment of taxes until June lst~ 1925.
