The. Council after discussion agreed to ~educe zone to only two b~ocks and ~he Chief of Police was instructed to place~ne &ign in front o~ Allen Markham, s residence and the other in front of the reside~e of T. T. Coleman. In connection with further regulation of traffic(a~ound the stool buildings the Council agreed ~o meet with the School Board and endeavor to obtain ~heir cooperation in making a school bus loading zone at the rear of the scho¢ buildings. Harvey Ham~ick was present and presented the deed to the stree s offe~red in minutes of November 1 in exchange for the deed to the swimming pool ~ ~operty. Attorney Durrance approved the deed as to form and correctness. Due to hhe absence of two Council members, Councilman Rhymes moved to delay action until fuhure meeting when all members could be present, seconded by Councilman Gardner and c~ried. Allen Markham appeared before the Council and requested that ~e City con- sider an industrial rate on water for Markham Brothers and Company or az~ Z other in- dustry that might locate in this vicinity. After discussion the Counci advised the the Clerk to secure water rates from Ft. Pierce, Pahokee and Belle Glad~ and assu~ed Markham that the ~it y would cooperate with him in any way possible. The flat rate charged for water at the 0keechobee County Bank ~as brought before t~e Council and discussed and upon .mo~ton Councilm~n Gardner mov~ to charge t~e 0keechobee County Bank at the regular water rate, billing for amoUn~ actuall~ consumed, seconded by Councilman Rhymes and carried. discussion on water for the churches was discussed, afterwh~h Councilman A Gardner m~ved to allow each church 5,000 gallons of water free of charg~ and all over §,000 gallons to be paid for a ~$~ per thousand, seconded by Councilman ~hymes parsonages to be charged regular rate according to meter ~adinge carried. The Councilman Rhymes moved that the January regular meeting be h, d ~b~esday January 10, 19§~, instead of January 3, seconded by Councilman Gardner ~a~d carried. A check was received by the Council in the amoUnt of $3,195.6~ from the · effective Nov. 5, Fla. Power & Light Co payment in accordance with Ordinance No. 223, ~.. :,Th ~.fotlowing~-,bui~ding applications were submitted and upon motion by Councilman Gardner said applications, were accepted and permits ordered issued, seconded by Cbuncilman Rhymes and carried: Franklin Walker $2,000, David Allgood $400 and Eug~e Fulwider $4,000. Gilbert Chev. Co. was designated as garage for city repairs during the months of DeCember and January. Lo~na Spivey, City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for 1955 as completed by her to the City Council for examination by the Council.
