1955-10-18 RegularOctober 18, 1955 The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met Journed session at the City Hall on the above date at 7:00 P. M. with the follow- ing present: Mayor H. H. Raulerson, President Walker, Councilmen Chandler, Gardner, Harden and Rhymes with O. C. Durrance, City Attorney and Lorena Splvey, City Clerk. Bru~e Lynes, representative of~ the Blue Cross and Blue hield' I~s~ance ~ Company was present and discussed a group insurance plan for the city em- ployees. After discussion Councilmm.-~ Gm..drier moved that the City pay to insure the employees under the above named company. Those employees desiring to include family members in pl~ would have to pay additional premiums, seconded by Councilman Harden and carried. J. W. Owens, Representative of Reynolds, Smith and Hills and C. P. Barnard representative of Housto~exas Gas and 0f'1 Corporation were present discussin~ the engineering report and survey of natural gas line in 0keechobee. After a l~ghty discussion the Counoil.~defe~red action on matter to future date. Wat~ ~upt. KinSaul reported on the survey of cost in the exte~ton of water line to Grove Addition. Roll ~he Ci~: Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment/for the y~ar 1955 as prepared b~ the Do~ling Appraisal Company and Upon motion Councilman Harden moved to accept the 1955 Tax Assessment Roll as prepared by the Dowling Appraisal Co. and presented by ~e City Tax Assessor~ seconded by Councilman Rhymes and carried. A request from James V. Dykes for a crossing over Markham Ditch to provide an entrance tO his property in Block 251 was discussed. Councilman Gardner moved to provide same When material is available, seconded by Councilman Chandler and Carried. A request from the 0keechobee County Bank for permission t o extend canopy from present location to entrance of office of Small Loans Dept. was discussed. Councilman Rh~es moved to grant permission for extension seconded by Councilman Gardner and c~ried. The :following building applications were submitted and upon motion by Couhcilman Gardner applications were approved and permits ordered issued to James V. Dykes $1,5~0, Ollin Morgan $~,000 and Glades Gas Co. $400~ seeo nded by Councilman Rhymes and ca~ried.
