The Council felt that he had had ample time to do so therefore requested the Clerk to
notify Robbins that if the permit was not purchased within ten days the Council would
take legal ac~on.
A. ~- Davis appea~ed before the Council requesting that North and South Curve
Streets in Blc~k 218 be closed. After discussion the Council requested that Davis
submit his dee~ to the property at the next regular meeting of the Council at which time
action on the pequest would be taken.

offer pu~chasi~ $15,000 I & S Refunding Bonds for $13,000, seconded by Councilmam
Rhymes and carried.
The £ollowing building applications were submitted and upon motion by Council~
Chandler, aec~deA by Councilman Rhymes and ca~ried permits were ordered issued to :
John Wendt $5~, J. W. Mobley $1,000, H. L. Watford $1,800, Mrs. Thelma Hanes $8,000

Ernest Campbell appeared in behalf of A. W. Davis and himself regarding the
closing of Nor%h and South Curve Streets in Block 218. After discussion matter deferred.
Frank Altobello, President of the Chamber of Commerce introduced to the Council

R. B. Hess, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce~ Also/representing the Chamber
Commerce was ~ E. Bryant, Jr., who with the above named persons discussed the growth
and developmen~ of the city and offered a complaint as to Auctions, Peddlers and
Solicitors opiating in the City of Okeechobee. After discussion Councilman Chandler
moved that the. Attorney prepare Ordinance on Auctionsand the license to be $150.00 per
day for out of town auctioneers holding auction in city~ seconded by CounciLman Harden
and carried.
Fred. T. Wilson appeared before the Council stating that he expected to build
several more hOuses in Northwest Addition of the City and requested the extension of
water line. A~. ter discussion on needed pipe for water line extension Councilman Chandle~
moved to p~c~.a~ c~der for 10 lenghts of 1~" and 26 lenghts of 2" pipe, seconded by
Councilman Gar~er and carried.
T. O- Newton, representing the Colonial Life & Accident Company presented the
group insuranc$ plan to the Council for city employees. The Council agreed for him to
contact the en~loyees as to whether they wished to enter the insurance plan.
The ~eed of a new mower was discussed. Councilman Harden moved to contact Hect
or Supply regarding the purchase of a machine and for trade in allowance on machine now
owned by the C~ty, seconded by Councilman Rhymes and carriede
CounCilman Chandle~ ~oved to remove attached caution light from signal light
on North Park ~d State Road 441 and to operate signal light 24 hours a day, seconded
by 'Councilman ~a~den and car~l ed.
CounOilman Gardner moved to purchase American Legion Convention Banner at
$25.00 secondeA by Councilman Rhymes and carried.
