The City Council cf the City of 0keechcbee, Florida, met in regular session
at the City Hall on th~ above date at 7:30 P. M. with the fo!lowing present: Mayor
Dunham, President Watford, Councilmen Chandler, Gardner, Pearce and Walker with G. C.
I~rrance, Cit~ Attorney and Lorena Sptvey, City Clerk.
Minutes of the meetings held May 6 and 13, 1953, were read and approved as
read.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida has located and pro-
poses to construct or reconstruct a part of Streets in 0keechobee as
follows:
Part 16: 0sceola Street between 8th and 9th Streets and 8th
and 9th Streets East of 0sceola Street.
Part l?: 1st Street between Nfa~l Street and Kissinunee Street;
and
WHEREAS, in order for the State Road Department to further and
complete said project, it is necessary that certain utilities and/or
facilities within the Right of Way limits of said Streets in 0keechobee,
be adjusted, changed or relocated; and
WHEREAS, the State Road Department having requested the City of
0keechobee, Florida, to execute and deliver to t~he State Road Department
a Utilities Agreement, agreeing to make or cause to be made such adjust-

ments, changes or relocations of said utilities and/or facilities as
set out in said agreement, and sa~d request having been duly considered;
NOW, YHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of 0keechobee, Florida,
that the Mayor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed
'to make, execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Utilities
Agreement for t~_e adjustment, change or relocation of certain utilities

Any and all water mains, fire hydrants, sanitar~ sewers, gas
mains, fire and po]ice call systems, telephone, electrical
and telegraph systems, including poles, pole line and under-
greed faci]ties there of, and any other utilities ~d facilities
within such right of way.
NOW, ~{EREF0~, the premises considered and in consideration of
tho s~ of One ($1.00) Dollar moving between ~e parties ~.d in f~ther
co~;siderat~on of the mutual covenants hereinafter contained, it is

That the Department w~ll provide at its expense for the construction,

r~_acement of all drainage structures necessary
to properly drain said municipal connecting l~ne State Road withf, n the
sa~d City, but not otherwise.

or otherwise, io order to comply with the plans, designs and specifications

relocated facilities or utilities within the right of way of said State
Road, to comply with all provisions of law of the Department's manual
with amen~ents and specifications for traffic control rout!~ and parking

z~g~,,m~s of thc Department pertaining thereto.
It !s m~ually agreed that any attached map or sketch showing any
such facilities or utilities to be adjusted, changed or relocated is made
a part thereof by reference.

President Wet ford presented plans and bla~ prints draw~ by Florida Power and
Light~Engineer, ~egard~ng proposed street lights. Councilman Cb. andler mo~ed that plans
he approved and Florid~ Power and Light Company be authorized to install lights
according to plans, se~..ondod by Councilman Pearce and carried.
A discussion on Sewer program was heard J R Durrance, Bond Agent, was
introduced to the Council by President ~.~atford. ~r. Durrance presented a proposal
for issuing and financing Revenue Certificates for construction o£ sewerage improve-
ments, as proposed by Rolland A. Sharp, Consulting Engineer. Proposed issue $$50,000.00
Interest 4~% - Maturity $0 years. .Mr. Durrance agreed to meet with the Council July
1 for further discussi~n.
0. L. Hunt, ~;upt. of Public Instruction appeared before the Council requesting
t~:o Council to include in the original sower plans, sewer to the new Elementar~y School
