1998-01 Landscaping Landscaping AgreementRESOLUTION NO. 98-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, • FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A HIGHWAY LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED ONA PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 15 (US 441) FROM SOUTH OF CSX RAILROAD CROSSING #628062 TO N.W. 14TH STREET STARTING AT MILEPOST 3.693 AND ENDING AT MILEPOST 4.305 WITHIN THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, medians within the Department of Transportation, State Road 15 (US 44 1) right-of-way are capable of receiving and sustaining landscape beautification features; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires that the City of Okeechobee participate in the beautification of this highway's median areas within the City of Okeechobee through the management and care of its landscape development; and WHEREAS, the City Council intends, by the adoption of this Resolution, to authorize the Mayor, to enter into a Highway Landscape Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Okeechobee, Florida and the Florida Department of Transportation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into a Landscape Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation, pertaining to the management and care of median areas located on a portion of State Highway 15 (US 44 1) from South CSX Railroad Crossing # 628062 to N. W 14th Street starting at Milepost 3.693 and ending at Milepost 4.305 within the City of Okeechobee, Florida. Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, is hereby directed to forward four (4) certified copies of this Resolution to the Florida Department of Transportation, Bartow, as a condition for receiving a Department General Use Permit. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida at regular meeting assembled this 6th day of January , 1998.
