at the City Hall on tH above date at 7~30 P. N. witty-the following present: President
Chandler, Councilmen ~e, Thomas, and Watford with Lorena. Spivey, City Clerk.
Minutes of ~e Neeting held October 4, 1954, were read and approved as read.

Will Stine ~peared before the Council in regard to closing the alley in
Block 77. Mr. Stine sated that each property owner in said Block was in favor of
closing alley. Prope~y owners in Block 7V are R. L. Hillis, Mabel Sheffield, $. L.
Robbins and Will Stin~ The Council agreed on closing alley but each property owner '
would have to be cont~ted afterwhich proper documents would be prepared by the City
Attorney.
Lorena Spiv~, City Tax Assessor, presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for
the year 1954 as comp~ted by her to the City Council for examination by the Council.
Upon motion by Co~.~ncil~an Watford, seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried, the Council
accepted the City Tax ~ssessment Roll for the year 1954, as prepared by the City Tax
Assessor.

Carl~on Arthur appeared before the Council regarding the ~hack that had been
built by Jame~ Miles near his property in 0keechobee Heights.. In the minutes of the
Council meeti~ held December V, 1955, Miles was advised to remove structure. Chief
~n~rnas stated ~hat he had insoected the building and found it to be in a deplorable
condition. C~cilm~n Watford moved that Chief ThOmas notify James :Miles that the
building be re~noved within 30 days from this date, seconded by Councilman Roe and
carried.
C. ~ Parkerson requested permission to remove trees on South Park Street in
front of John ~ynn property, so that, a power line could be installed. Council agreed
to grant requ~t providing it is satisfactory with Wynm.
The~ollowing building applications were presented: Mrs. S. W. Inglis, $8,0~0,
R. Spivey $1,~0, Fred T. Wilson $6,000, J. E. Cone $1.0,000, M. S. Harden $10,000 and
J. H Wiles .~ ,000. Councilman Warlord moved to accept the above building applications
and ordered p~its granted~ seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried
Up~ motion the Council adjourned to meet ThLu~sday, November 18, 1954.

The ~ity Council of the City ~f 0keechobee, Florida, met in adjourned session
at 7:30 P. ~;~.}on the above date at the City Hall with the following present: President
Chandler, CounCilmen Coker, Roe and Watford with Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
~ne ~ity C]m ~k presented the petition of candidates in the General City
Election to ben'held December '7, 1954, and said petitions were examined by the Council
and all petitions v~ere found to contain the required number of qualified electors.
Councilman Wat~ord moved that all petitions be accepted, seconded by Councilman Roe
and carried.
The !ouncil instructed th~ City Clerk to have 1,000 of the following ballots
