A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE,
FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF THE CITY
ATTORNEY FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO HEALTH INSURANCE;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Okeechobee, Florida has traditionally provided certain employee
benefits which includes health insurance coverage, as well as providing such
coverage for members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, such health insurance has not to date been provided or authorized for the
position of City Attorney, which is a part-time position with the City of Okeechobee;
and
WHEREAS, the inclusion of the City Attorney into present health insurance plans is
permitted by the carrier upon adoption of a resolution providing same; and
WHEREAS, the City of Okeechobee finds that the provision of such benefit for the Office
of the City Attorney is appropriate given the fact all other employees in the City are
covered;
THEREFORE, be it ordained and resolved as follows:
1. THAT the City of Okeechobee, Florida hereby authorizes the inclusion of that
person now serving or hereafter serving as City Attorney for the City into the
health insurance plan for all general employees and City Council members,
and to authorize the execution of such policy amendments or other
documents as necessary to include this position into such insurance
coverage.
INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED this 7 day of May, 2002.
