The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met regular adjourned
~-- session on tho above date at 7:30 P. Y., at the City Hall with the folloWing present:
. ?~Iayor X. H. Raulerson, President Chandler, Councilman Coker, Roe, Thomas and Watford
with G. C. Du?rance, City Attorney and Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
~.linutes of the meeting held June 10, 1954, were read and approved as read.
The following bills were approved and ordered paid when funds are available:

Drainage in South Section of city in vicinity of H. T. Scott's Property was
discussed, and Council agreed to investigate situation. Also H. T. Scott requested that
his water mete~ be rechecked, ~ne Council ordered this done.
Cotu~cilman Thomas moved that contractors moving houses obtain a permit from
Clerk's office before moving any house within Gi~y limits, seconded by Councilman Coker
and carried. Chief Thomas was instructed to notify any person in said business of action
Ordinance No. 262 was presented and read in full the first time, upon motion
by Councilman Coker, seconded by Councilman ~omas and carried waE passed to a second
reading by title only and upon motion by Cotmcilman Coker, seconded by Counci.U. man
Thomas and ca?~ied Ordinance passed to a third and final reading by title only. There-
upon Councilman Coker moved to adopt Ordinance and upon being seconded by Comacilman
Thomas was put to a vote and unanimously adopted:

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RE-REGISTRATION OF ALL
PE~SONS WHO INTEND TO REGIS'!?ER A~ QUALIFY TO VOTE IN
A~£ GEneRAL, PR!~,L&RY OR SPECIAL ELEC~ON TO BE HELD IN
~E CI~£ OF 0KEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AFTER ~ltE FIRST DAY
OF A~GUST, 1954, A~D PROVIDI!'JG FOR THE ~IAI~ER TI~E AND
RE-~EG!STRATION OF SAID ELECTORS ETC.
BE IT ORDAI~ED BY THE L'~YOR AkrD CITY COLH,~CIL OF ~HE
CI?Z OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
~ SECTION ONE: All persons who desire to vote in any Gen-
! eral, Primary or Special Election to he held in the City
of 0keechobee, Florida, after August 1st, 1954, shall re-
register their names at the City Hall, in a special book
prepared for said purpose, on or before ten days next
preceding such General, Primary or Special Election.

SECT!Oi'~ ~0: All persons re-registering as provided in Section
one of this Ordinance, shall be qualified electors of Okeechobee
County, Florida.
SECTZ0kT THR2~E; It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the City of
0keechobee, Florida, to open the registration books of said City
of 0keec~ob~e, Florida, on thc first day of August, 1954, and
keep the sa~ue open, five days each week, thereafter, during the
period of re-registration as provided in Section One, of this
Ordinance.
SECTZOI.T FOD...-R: Any person failing to 1-e-register as provided in
Section one, shall not be permitted to vote at any General, Primary
or Special Election held in said City of 0keecbobee, Florida.
SECTION FIVE: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith, a?e hereby specifically repealed.
SECTION SIX: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval of the ~,~ayor.
Read in full and by unanimous consent, passed to a second reading·
Read in full on second reading, and by unanimous consent passed
to third and finalreading.
Read in full on third reading, and unanimously passed in r~gular

Due to the street condition, Councilwoman moved to place an order for patch
material, seconded by Councilman Roe and carried.
A building application from H. L. Shepoard in the

submitted and upon motion by Councilmau Watford, seconded by Councilman Thomas and
carried, permit was o~dered issued.
Upon motion the Co~uacil adjourned.
